Lochar67
I am on day 6 of time playing, aside from a random ctd every blue moon or occasion stuck on load every few hrs, the game run ok. My problem started when I started working on Robot Quest line, out of a blue an autosave just locked up. As progressed thru story regular saves worked so just disabled auto save. But as I got further now even manual saves are hit or miss when it does it and its often. I could also sleep in bed, saves game, same location, clean out some junk and use same bed, freeze. I am using LOOT for load order, have had FO4edit clean any ITM issues. FS4E is upto date, using MO2. It could be a mod, as have alot altho good chunk is clothing. I had scrap everything briefly loaded trying to fix an SS2 issue but disabled and swore I loaded before I added it, but may not have. I have no other major ctds, at least not freguently and have been deleting alot of older saves and keep maybe last 3 hrs worth since I try to save every so often due to a random crash or lockup. PC is fairly new, full screen, can try windows if think is culprit but searching and seeing not alot of similiar issues. Found 1 that was due to outdated mods, but mine have been all redownloaded within last month since PC got wiped when sent in for repair. I can post plugins if need, altho still not sure why that order differs from mod order. I really hate to start a new game at this point but right now playing is too much a gamble of when save is going to lock up and scared if dont find the issue, a new game will just have it as well with time put in down the road. Any help would be appreciated, as I am not a genius when it comes to modding, or programs but so far it has been running relatively flawlessy. StormWolf01
Heya Lochar.I had this problem, repeatedly back when I was playing this game on the ps4. The problem itself is either due to savegame information containing info from mods that are no longer installed, improper saving when the engine goes to save them, corrupted files, stuff like that. And then that problem magnifies, the more times that you save it with those errors in there. In your particular case, it could have been due to one of the crashes. Or it could have been from adding/removing mods without taking precautions. (Just throwing that second one out there, because that's usually what many newer players do)The bad news is, I'm sorry to say, that your character is most likely trashed. Or soon to be. That corruption just gets worse and worse the more you try to play that char. :( As for trying to avoid the problem again, make regular backups of your savegames, on a different area of the computer. That way, if they get corrupted, you simply replace them.Another is to make sure that you're NOT installing/uninstalling mods on your regular playthrough char. Have several test characters, that you do that on. So that the main char's savegames don't get bloated with mods that are no longer in the game. Leaving behind leftover data, scripts, and whatnot that are now orphaned. If you have a standard, magnetic hard drive (Hard disk drive, HDD) I'd also run a systems check on your disk, to make sure you don't have any hdd problems. If you're running a Solid state drive (SSD) I would check to see how much disk space you have left, on your primary/master drive. SDD's have a slower write speed in most cases than a HDD, so it's possible the crashes don't allow them to finish their writing operation, before the data they're trying to write, goes POOF. This problem, with the write speed, gets even worse the more full that the drive is. Sorry for the bad news, but I hope the tips help you avoid it again in the future. Thanks I was beginning to suspect that. I already made new game , last game I downloaded some mods that I didnt pay attention to the dates and alot had issues that I removed. I thought they were just graphical but mayne not all were. I looked into that resaver but I have no clue what is safe or not to remove as author even said FO4 uses some of those files. But thanks for the response. I just wish SS2 was easier to restart, think been thru this story 10 times already.
