Hi. Where is that load order from? The one that really counts is displayed from selecting Data Files on the default launch screen. Animation mods are a little tricky.

The Pretty Motion Pack mod author says to use the FNIS "GenerateFNISForUsers" utility with his mods; did you do that? I doubt an animation mod can even work without the FNIS generator, or an equivalent. You have to modify "behavior" files to get an animation mod to work and FNIS was a pioneer mod for doing that.

If you didn't use the FNIS thingy, look up FNIS on the NEXUS. There is a lot of info on how to use the generator and why its needed.

EDIT: Mods at the bottom of the load order override ones above them. They are in the best position to work in the load order you gave, IF one doesn't have to load before the others.

Hello, Lord Garon, and thank you so much for your reply!

That is what I saw listed in the Data Files in Steam?

I have FNIS, it is listed 5th from the bottom up there :)

Should the Pretty motion mods be under FNIS then, rather than under Alternate Start?

I doubt that it matters unless there are other things in the esp files. But the mod author didn't give a load order, so they're probably fine where they are.

Are you having issues with the mods, or are you just concerned about the load order?

Yes. I CTD. I installed FNIS and the Pretty motion pack about two weeks ago. It worked well and good for about a week or so. Now I CTD 95% of the time. I suspect FNIS because FNIs spells do not work now all of the sudden and because one of the times it decided to load, I was in a frozen game with a Tpose.

Here is some info to help. I have Skyrim 1.9.32.0.8 SKSE version 1.6.16 rel44 FNIS version 4.0.1 (I see a new version just came out could that be the issue?)

Here is a snippet of my papyrus logs

Well, its always a good idea to update mods.

Papyrus logs are rarely useful for indicating crash causes. MANY "errors" and log entries are a result of normal game operations. If you watch them long enough (not recommended), you'll see they simply go away as the game engine catches up to events, loads new cell data, etc, etc.

I found this on the FNIS mod page:

I have de-installed one of the mods which use FNIS Behavior. Now I get CTD when loading a save file.
That's a sytem reaction when a behavior file is missing. Run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe and you should be fine again.

Its not your situation, but a missing behavior file can cause a CTD. You might try running the generator again and see if it helps, especially if the CTD happens at repeatable points in the game (when a particular animation is used). If not, try the upgrade. I hesitate to say it, but I don't think it could hurt.

Just out of curiosity, how do you start your game?

Lord Garon, thank you. I just found out that readme extraction settings must be changed in NMM to allow for readmes. Animation mods are sometimes dependent on them. My game is loading up now, although I still cant get FNIS spells to animate for some reason. Im not sure what I have done wrong.

I start my game via SKSE. I have autosave & steam cloud disabled and I just hardsave. Not that you asked all that just didnt want to leave anything out.

I really appreciate you trying to help me sort it out, thank you so much.

The reason I asked about starting the game is load order. Skyrimlauncher.exe was designed to maintain the files which "remember" your loadorder. It seems most mod managers nowadays can be used to set loadorder and they can run BOSS and take it's word for load order. Somtimes its good to launch Skyrim normally or from Steam, click the launcher Data Files button, and make sure it shows the same load order as the other tools. It "displays" the load order which the game will use (plugins.txt); the other tools tell you what they are going to "set" that file to, eventually (they sync it to yet another file). Sometimes, for various reasons (permissions, etc), those two files are different.

If you want to check it manually (sometimes the launcher will "restore" your ini files), hit Start and search for plugins.txt and open it, then do the same for loadorder.txt, and make sure the mods are in the same order in both. You can also check the skse.log file in your "My Games\Skyrim\SKSE" folder; skse logs the mods loaded and their order.

Probably nothing, but I have seen problems with this before.

There is stuff about "frozen T-pose" problems in the FAQ on the FNIS Nexus mod site. I don't use FNIS, so its mostly greek to me.
