Shalebridge Crash - Help!

I'm experiencing the common problem of the game freezing due to an item spawning in the Shalebridge Tunnels (I think it's an assault rifle). Unfortunately, :wallbash: I only save with quicksaves, and I do it alot, meaning that my only two recent (closest other one is at least 10/20 hours behind) saves are in the tunnels. Weirdly for me, as opposed to other reports I've read, is that I can still load either the quicksave (after I've looted and messed around with stuff) or the autosave (when I first went in) and move around in the tunnels.

 

The bad thing is though, whenever I try to leave the tunnels on either save, the game crashes to desktop. Anyone have any idea of what I could do? I was thinking there might be some sort of console command/file editor thing that might be able to spawn my character somewhere safe, but I have no idea about any of that stuff. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Backup your save (in \My Games\Fallout 3\Save\)

Run the Game and load your save.

Go to Menu, delete your Quick- and Auto-Save by right-click.

Run around, wait some time (don't know if it helps)

 

Now open console and type:

coc MegatonPlayerHouse

Btw:

Don’t rely on the quick-save-button. It’s not a ‘complete’ savegame.

In addition you should really save your game regularly by the menu.
