Moving Vortex folder to another drive during download

Hello everyone, today i was installing a Skyrim mod collection and made the stupid mistake of not changing where mods were being downloaded. It is a 70gb collection, and my C drive only has 20gb left. I need it be but put in my E drive which has plenty of storage. Is there any way of changing where vortex is downloading these mods without cancelling the mods i am current downloading? Is it safe to just move my Roaming/Vortex/Downloads folder to the E drive?

I am not in a position to try it, but if it were me:

I would go to Settings and change the path for Downloads to where you want it to be.

My recollection (questionable at the best of times) is that Vortex will both set up the new directory - and move your downloaded mods to it.

Then if you Resume your collection download, it should download to the new location.

 

Depending on how wrong I am, someone will chip in and correct me. But this gives you a start.

Theoretically it should work. You have to pause the collection and any active downloads. Then, as rmm200 said, use settings to change the download directory. When it's done, resume.

 

Do NOT move the download directory manually with windows explorer, always go through Vortex settings.
