Eshenaleros
I've posted an article related to something like this. "Ratings are therefore depending on a mod's functionality. These are not used to rate low to files because it is simply not 'lore-friendly', and the moderators should be able to tell you once. 'If this mod does not please you, pass it by without comment.' The rating system is not for you to rate something you don't like very low, and the system is not to be abused with. It's rated on functionality and performance, not your moral opinion above all others. The Nexus is not provided a platform for you to discuss that opinion. If you choose to rate files low and give band comments directly, you could offend the author, and could risk a high chance of your comment being reported to a moderator. The only time must you rate a file low is due to it's functionality and performance. - RATINGS 1 - 4 - Low ratings should only be necessarily used when a file does not work properly. If it's spam, or some other virus or miscellaneous that aren't a mod for your game, you reserve every right to report the file, and rate it low I guess... - RATINGS 7 - 10 - Good ratings are often given if a mod works properly, and has a fair functionality. If you see a mod that works fine and you may think 'Ooooh! Nice mod!', you could probably rate it 7 - 10, which I'm pretty sure you'll do anyway. Once again, ratings are used for functionality and performance. This site is third party. We can make whatever mods we want here. It's kinda like 'Burger King - Have it your way'. You're pretty much entitled to provide constructive criticism. If it's positive, the author could really use some help from your info. If it's negative, and critical, the author may be offended, and as I mentioned, a high chance of somebody who is bound to report you. If you haven't read the rules yet, you should take a moment to read the Nexus guidelines now, so in the future, you don't put yourself in trouble with the moderators or Dark0ne himself. I had to revise this note, because I've noticed quite a few comments disrupting my files since I was on here. I hope my article was helpful. Not trying to offend anyone here. Just saying it loud and clear, because I don't want other people getting in trouble for being critical."YES!

buddah
Trolls can read, they just choose not to or ignore what they have been told. It is a trait inherent to the species, that is why they are endangered on this forum and family of sites.

Lord Slyther
Thank you to those who praise my writing. It was quite a speech I made when I first made the article. And banhammers are out of date. You should refer to the Ban-16. Long range, and it works. Ever need to hit a troll from a distance, no problem! This tool should serve 'em justice :P http://defrev.com/stories/m16clinic/M16%20Viper%20with%20the%20Coyote%20Ugly%20Finish,%20by%20M16%20Clinic.jpg
phforNZ
Reckon you could modify an M14 into a Ban14? Would make a bigger mess of the trolls, than the Ban16 :D
Pineapplerum
I just posted a thread about the rating system. I'm so confused as to how to vote at this point. I think the endorsement votes would be a lot better, also. Reaper, I agree with you on that. But for me, it's not because of trolls, it's because I dont' want to hurt anyone's feelings by voting less than a 10 but even if it's a huge mod and a lot of time and energy went into it-if it wasn't done with quality, creativity, ease of use and instructions-I cannot just give it a 10 although just for the sheer amount of work they put into it, I really want to. It's very hard to rate and I really struggle with it. I guess I can be too honest at times. Anyway, sorry you're being annoyed by trolls. At this point I think I'm going to just start commenting with out voting though. Do you think that's more of a slap in the face of the modders than giving out 8s and 9s? :(
RSCA727
I personaly am trying to get into modding, I just need someone to help me get the proper programs. But I can say that it is no easy stuff. I use to do concept art for one of my buddies, he was a professional modder. We loved what we did, and we always did a good job. But then you get people who dont even mod, comment saying ''your mod sucks'' or ''bad job'' or worse most of the times, and they dont even know how hard it is to do that stuff. Instead of pushing the modders off a *ban* cliff(pardon french), try helping them by giving tips on how to fix the damn problem. This stuff is not easy. I want to get into modding as soon as possible, I want to make a castle simular to mjy's, except the exterior wont look like disney land(sorry mjy but it kinda does) and the interior will be kind of different. That project I am estimating will take a year and a half with careful detailed work and finished touches including bugs. You see people, making a mod is not an over night thing. It takes a year, some two years, even three. I am currently looking for help on how to install mjy's mod... since its not really working so well. To all of you modders, I am very proud to say that all of you do an extreme job, keep the influence up, and dont let the trolls keep you from crossing the bridge, kick the *banned*(sorry again) and keep going. Best regards Denis.L

(you like you give you'r "endorsement" you dont like you give nothing !....and we still keep the free to express whit keeping the option of commenting ! Only commenting can be good on certain occasion, but most of the time the modder would appreciate more whit a rate ! so it's kinda complicated !
