Do not merge, bash or patch the base game files or the DLC files. You will mess stuff up.

You can create a 'merge patch' with FNVEdit (and I assume a bash patch) as a compatbility patch.

Compress the textures a little with optimizer textures.

Check the load order in FNVEdit.

Make a merge patch (with FNVEdit)

Check your game consistency with steam (verify game cache)

Try uninstalling a few mods at a time. I'd start with Companion Share and recruit and maybe sex try to start with. Then play (don't save) for a while and see if you crash.

Also I notice you are not using CASM to save and do not have YUP installed. Both of those improved stability for me.

Thanks bjornl. i have not bash patched or anything and will try that FNVedit patch thing. i dont think its the textures. already checked load order. and verified game cache it did nothing but change my modified .ini for darnified ui. it very well may be companion share and recruit. dont think its sex try as thats just a bug fix. thanks again.

The reason I suggested the optimizer textures it that a crash that happens randomly after playing a while might be memory related (the game engine has major memory management issues). Are you running a 64bit os? Are you using the 4gb loader?

So i just made a merged patch with FNVedit and some things had a red background and dead money had red text in one and project nevada and red text in another so theres a conflict i guess. but i dont know what mod is making the conflict so if you guys could tell me how to find that out is wanted. thanks! i am using a 64 bit os and i have 8gb of ram. does the game not use 4gb by default?

No the game does not use 4gb. Using the 4gb loader here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35262//?

increases game stability and performance. I highly recommend it.

Other needed core things which help alot.

NVSE http://nvse.silverlock.org/

YUP

http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/51664//?

You already use MMUE, I like MMUE+ as well. Tips on MMUE / YUP. Load YUP very early in the load order. Load MMUE later.

On trouble shooting FNV results. A bit of an art form. Really nice utility, a little complex. This might help: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38413//?

RED does not mean it is a BUG. It means it is a conflict. The merge patch picks the last one to make a change. Adjust your load order so the effect you want is loaded last. It is guaranteed that there will be conflicts. Every mod changes something. In many cases this will result in a minor conflict. Add a weapon to a list, it is a conflict. Because the two lists do not agree. But you want might want the weapon on the list... for example a user created gun which is added to the list of guns which receive the Cowboy Perk. it is a 'conflict' but not a problem. Two mods which both place a building in the same location is a conflict which is a problem. You have to look at the list and see if it is just a change or a problem.
