Idea for a feature.

There should be a feature to fix the file structure of already installed mods, there are many that you would think be handled by the program okay just multiple choice kind of mods but it puts resources in wrong folders in data, its about folder structures in data. We truly need that for a decent experience with mods, the rest can be then easily fixed through what what is already implemented in Vortex like filters and rules and conflict management.

I know many mods might not contain any folders of the standard naming scheme but you could make it so user can choose in these cases, would make managing these file conflicts easier in Vortex than going to data after all the mods were installed and trying to figure out wtf.

But I guess it would be most beneficial in cases where there is some kind of standard folder structure inside of a different optional structure for example and that recursively with multiple trees of optionals.

If you disable a mod, then right click and choose 'open in file manager'; you will get an explorer view of the staging folder for that mod. You can then rearrange the files as you wish, and enable and deploy. Note that upon updating the mod you may need to do this again.

Yes I guess this way is possible, but its about the practicality of being also able to compare it to already installed and then choosing if you want to remove certain directories or disable them, seeing what overwrites what even in current mod.

Edit: To clarity when you install mods via vortex and obviously nobody installs mods and checks them one by one but installs them all and then tests, so if vortex auto prompted for non standard structure and let us fix any duplicates and organize the structure right then and there we wouldn't suddenly find in game that we are missing some parts of the mods.

what game are you changing the mods for

though there was a way to have vortex scan for empty or duplicated folders already some where

it is some what are to find all the functions that Vortex can do

some are on the bar over mods some are in the settings some are in different tabs under each games mod setups, for fallout/skyrim some are in the plugins section

Edit: not sure why my posts have no format just a string of words

Edit: well now after that edit they do HUH
