Small Question

Hi to all, sorry for asking this question but I would like to know if it's possible to access vanilla animations for mods, reason being that I would like to use the animation of Montgomery dropping down from the ceiling in Operation: Anchorage for some Enclave soldiers (probably use the new ones in Broken Steel when they come out : http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/...power_armor.PNG , they look commando-ish) for a small mod I'm working on. Or does that violate the term of use?

Eh... in theory if you change the model that your enclave soldiers use to the one used by montomery, it should also give you his animations. Or you could just select his anims from the dropdown list in the NPC settings (haven't got the GECK installed atm so can't check this currently, sorry).

And you don't have to worry about the terms of use, DLC is Fallout 3 content, it can be used freely in mods for the game. It'd only be an issue if you wanted to say take the Trog from The Pitt and add it to Oblivion as a new monster, that'd be illegal under the terms of use.

Thats not entire true. You not allowed extract the models\textures\animations from the pitt and make it available as a sepperated download. So I am not sure... if you use DLC Models and change them and make them available for download, it could be against the copyrights... Since the Admins on Nexus are very strikt in this terms, you shouln't be suprised if they delete your mod.

No but you can use the assets from a dlc related to the game you are modding so long as they are not seperate as you said and require the dlc they came from, so long as the dlc was made for the game you are modding :

The Pitt : Fallout 3 - Allowed

Shivering Isles - Oblivion - Allowed

The Pitt : Oblivion - Not allowed

So yes you could pull the anims from anchorage for use in a fallout 3 mod but you would have to make the mod require the dlc made for the game.
