niston
The whole previs/precomb thing is a shitshow. There's no other word for it. For example, KhavozeinsFang carefully regenerated precombs and previs for their FH Cliff's Edge hotel - Which then completely effs up any attempts to mod the nearby Visitor's Center. Now imagine if every mod tried to push new previs/precomb data into the game. You'd get an epileptic seizure from the resulting flickering everywhere. The only solution would be to regenerate for the entire load order. But, ofc, CK will s*** itself if you try to do that with a long modlist. :wallbash:
PJMail
I know what you mean - 80% of my load order work is rebuilding visibilty as every mod now seems to include new/rebuilt precombines. My wish for those xedit scripts I mentioned above is serious as I could use them to create a special mod that I could then feed into the command line 'build visibility' operation (to just rebuild visibility where it is broken - so CK might actually finish without crashing!) And I am not even considering where I have to rebuild precombines as well because 2 mods touch the same cell... Yuk. pra
Pra linked a wiki page the other day that said changing the landscape disables precombines. It's this one: https://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Precombined_References#LAND_Records_Notes Reads to me like: it is unknown how terrain is actually used in the precombines, but changing it breaks them. PJMail
I do wonder if landscape are actually built into previsbines, or the 'broken' detection is just checking all cell children indiscriminately. Something to test at some point.
