Relios
Im starting to take up modding and im trying to start simple, im just making a simple, retextured unique Garand modeled after This Machine. Thing is, for some reason, something went wrong with the textures and in-game the rifle looks horribly dull and low-definition, would someone mind pointing towards a good start for HD textures?(Im considering I may have used an iffy program, the only ones I've used are Easy2Convert (to switch between DDS and JPG) and Gimp.) bjornl
Not a guru, but I've converted a few textures. I prefer paint.net to convert DDS files. When you convert it use a no-compression. For example TIFF defaults to compressing the files. GIMP is ok to edit the PNG or TIFF. I prefer a slightly older version of Photoshop (not that online nastyness) but that is what I am used to.And, do not use JPG. It compresses the files and it is not loss-less. I found a plugin for gimp that allows it to edit DDS files directly, and working on it now, Im seeing a huge improvement in image quality.
