D&D Feats?

I'm just starting some D&D, and I need to know for character creation: Do you start off with all your feats, or do you start with one and get a new one every level?

Well, I'm gonna assume you're playing with 4th edition.

When you create a character, you get a certain number of starting feats that come with the chosen class. At every other level, you get to choose 1 new feat from the list as long as you meet the feats requirements.

So basically, no. You don't take all the feats. And you'll never achieve all the feets unless you're playing with "epic levels"(don't worry yourself with these. They're complicated and usually not required) and even then, you may not get them all. Choose your feats wisely.

I'm going to be in a 4th edition game next week so I'll find out just how much different it is from 3.5.

I have two feats

Feats don't fail me now...

Me, I'm Old School... stopped at 2nd Ed... figured I'd bought enough rulebooks already.

If you're into Pen/Paper games, you might get a laugh out of this...

Recently (about three weeks ago) I spotted a flyer posted in one of the bus kiosks on post... a gaming group seeking a GM for 2nd-ed AD&D. I responded with my interest, qualifying that by saying "I'll need to meet your group and get a feel for their play style... find out if your group is right for me before making such a committment." Turns out they were into playing Hackmaster (an RPG plagiarized heavily from 1st Ed. & 2nd Ed, developed by the same company that publishes Knights of the Dinner Table. After one session, I thought I'd be able to work with them, and so I took over the gamemaster's screen.

The long, sordid tale of what happened is described in this forum thread (I am "SeekingGM"); just read, and you'll see what happened.
