Deliroux
This is a bit of a different discussion to the usual...more a frustration vent than anything I want to know as someone with oldrim and only 2 DLCs(cant afford SE only got LE on XBOX 360) why so many people out there create SE and LE only mods? is oldrim simply being slowly forgotten because its not new and good enough? are the other editions simply easier to mod? why the uprise in mods that'll never be ported for the people who cant afford SE?Also why not put that your mod is not for oldrim IN THE TITLE!!, i've come across many mods getting my hopes up but oh no, its only made for SE and only ported to LE aarrrrrgggghfeel free to vent if you also have the same frustrations and no they're not rhetorical questions, i would genuinely like some answers
IsharaMeradin
Technically LE is "oldrim". It just contains ALL the DLC. After 11 years, and with LE having had quite a few discounted sales, it is only natural that mods are made with LE in mind. That said, not every mod made with LE is for LE only. Plugin wise, if the DLC plugins are not required then the mod's plugin should work with original Skyrim only. Now if it uses assets (meshes, textures, scripts, etc...) from a DLC but not the plugin records, that DLC or LE would still be required. Only way to know what level of requirement is needed would be to thoroughly check the mod out or ask the author if possible. Most of my mods made for 32 bit Skyrim will work with or without the DLC. This means that despite me having eventually gotten all the DLC, I still made mods using the base game unless something from a DLC was absolutely necessary, in which case the requirements section of the mod page would state that. As for why many mods are being made for SE and not back ported to 32 bit Skyrim (LE or not), people can only make mods for what they own. If they cannot test on a particular version or get someone to test for them, there is no point in making a mod for that version. It is also much easier to make a mod on LE and port to SE than the other way around.
