SSE Problem With Khajiit Merchant's Inventory

Read this if you have a problem with 'miscellaneous' merchants not selling or buying.

 

I'm not telling you the solution because I'm mean that way...

 

...only joking! It was simple, as most things appear to be when you find the answer. My merchant sold miscellaneous items and I did not tick the "not sell or buy" box in their vendor faction. I made a new merchant who was not a Khajiit and automatically ticked the box, which I hadn't done for the Khajiit merchant. After a facepalm and much cursing of myself, I tested and she worked fine, of course.

 

I'm guessing I can reinstate my Khajiit merchant now. I'll edit later to let you know if she also works. Edit 2: Yep, she works, too. Happy days.

In a nutshell, my Khajiit Merchant uses all the right dialogue, but when I accept the prompt to trade and she says "Take a look", the dialogue opens, showing my gold, her gold, but that's it. None of her items or mine show up to buy/sell.

 

As far as I can tell, she is set up like each of the Khajiit caravan leaders, except she has her own vendor faction and not theirs. I created both her factionand her from scratch, so no duplication. I did duplicate a merchant chest and tinkered with it, gave it a new ID and saved it.

 

The chest contains items that she should be able to sell as a miscellaneous merchant.

 

I test on a new game, using 'live another life', no mods other than that.

 

She potters around her tent using the furniture and idle markers. I've tried her with a general sandbox package and no packages... no difference.

 

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this?

 

I wondered if it was specific to Khajiit, as their voice types aren't set up in formlists like apothecaries, spell merchants, etc.

 

I'm off now to try a new vendor from another race and see if she works... even if she does, I really wanted a Khajiit: I love those cats!

 

Any advice is warmly welcomed. I must be missing something daft.

I'll hold out to see if someone has had this or knows what causes it.

 

I don't want to post the esp somewhere if I can help it.

 

Plus, for anyone to try changing something and testing, they'd need the meshes, textures, sounds, voice files, SEQ, face gen etc, for it all to work. That or a BSA.

 

Hopefully I'll get time to try my alternative merchant today.
