Pack Rat
I dont really care for HL² itself, just play the sp once and will only get it for CS Source so wont even bother to download... Besides, I'm still waiting on my new RAM
ZoFreX
I'm kinda disappointed that the demo just uses existing levels - Half-Life: Uplink rocked!
loveme4whoiam
There was a debate about this in the months PCZone - they were picking their game of the year and the linearity of HL2 was picked up. Since i regard them as the seminal experts on all games (not hardware though), i shall quote you what they said - Anthony: Saying it's too linear is a non-cricism. If it wasn't linear it would be boring. Take Stalker for example, which is trying to be totally freeform. With something like that, if something interesting happens then it's just luck. Dave: I think we'll look back at HL2 and say it was brilliant for its time, but that it was just one step along the road of FPS evolution. Half-Life 2 is as good as a shooter can get using the current FPS conventions, but maybe it's time developers looked into breaking those conventions and found new ways of making shooters better. My thoughts exactly, although i dislike the criticism of Stalker, which i think will turn out to be amazing. Games like Stalker are going to lead the way. Once developers can link the freeform gameplay of Stalker with the story-telling of HL2, or the forth-coming Pariah, then we will have reached a truely epic stage in PC game evolution. That might take awhile, but every journey requires a first step *inner editor: oo, philosophical*.
