capnz
I have been having trouble getting mods to work. Every time I download oen I place it in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data I used winrar to unzip the file but I am not sure if it did correctly. After downloading it, I lauched fallout 3 and clicked on data files. All that was there was Fallout3.esm Also I have the fallout 3 Mod manager but I have no idea how to use it. Please can anyone help me out?
buddah
You are probably extracting it wrong, have a read through the stickied thread: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=21998 Although it is in the Oblivion section, the same applies to fallout3 as they use the same engine and file structures. Buddah A good rule of thumb is to open the file with winrar and view the readme for specific installation instructions.
buddah
It is somewhat quiet here tonight, which file are you trying to install? I will try to give you step by step walkthrough to install it.

capnz
I think you were right, I wasn't extracting it right. I just did it now, and it popped up on the data files when i launched the game. Gonna see if it works now
buddah
This one just contains an esp file so it will be an easy install. Double click on the rar archive it will open up in winrar. You will see a file titled: Personal_Vault.espclick on it to highlight (it will turn blue) click on extract to button on top. now set the destination path to your fallout3 installation, if you used the default installation path it will be some thing like this, username/mycomputer/c/programfiles/bethesdasoftworks/fallout3/data\ if you are using vista, either turn off UAC or make sure you a logged in on an account with administrative abilities. capnz
I got it working. I had to manually copy and paste the file into the data folder instead of extracting it there. Thanks!

TGBlank
I suggest you install Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) and learn to use it (should create a desktop icon, interface is quite friendly). Its a must have if you plan on modding.
