Lord Slyther
and Egypt killed off their entire pig population, literally about 319k pigs killed, so they had to rename it I would miss having bacon, but that's exactly what we should do in case if issues like this. You don't have to agree with me, whoever says they disagree. It's what I think what we should be doing right now.
jaosals42
http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/disease/us_fl...ated_deaths.htm According to this article, over 36000 people die per year in the U.S alone of common flu viruses. http://www.infopirate.org/bm_mexico-raises...-death-toll-149 These short tidbits of info tell that as of Monday, 149 people in Mexico alone have died from the HIN 1 flu virus. If the virus started spreading a week ago... 52 x 149 = 7748 approximate deaths would occur in Mexico were the HIN 1 virus to last a whole year. Compared to the population of the U.S... 300,000,000 X 100,000,00036,000 _________ x 300,000,000x = 3600000000000 X = 12,000 cases of normal flu deaths in Mexico per year on average So for every 3000 cases of everyday flu virus diagnoses, there will be approximately 1937 HIN 1 diagnoses. I realize that the virus is more virulent than the typical flu viruses, so my information may not be accurate. But this is my conclusion, that we possibly may be overreacting. Just wash your hands constantly, consume enough vitamin C, and stay away from people who are coughing.
DavidB1111
I don't think we have anything to worry about from this at the moment. I'm certain we'll all be fine. Now, then, where did I put my botulism reserves. :) All in all, I think everyone needs not to worry. 130 or so people die every five minutes the world over. Birrii
My father, who sneaked into my room and was reading what you wrote (please don't laugh :( ) , and the next day he bought gas masks from the army. Now we just wait 'til the gas masks arrive. :S (xD)
katklaw
Gas masks may work, but the best thing you can do is wash you hands because it is most commonly transfered by touch 89%. Shaking hands may become a thing of the past  The next most common way is actually through the membranes of the the eye, airbourne. 5%. very hard to defend against so keep away from sneezing people and if you are sneezing..into a hankie fella. The hardest way to get it is through the respiratory system. This is because the body has some very good defence systems 4%. Again airbourne and you are gonna have to rely on your defensive system so heaps of vegetables and fruit and or vitamin/mineral tablets to buff up the immune system. Now the virus has three parts to it. (This is a very simple way to look at it) Avian/Pig/Human now this in its self is not too bad Its when it starts to mutated that it becomes a problem. It could go Avian/Avian/Pig or Avain/Pig/Pig which really shouldnt affect humans too much. Its when it goes Avian/Avian/Human or Avain/Human/Human that it could become a problem. Oh by the way its a waste of time killing all pigs or birds. The flu is already in the human population.
