I made a dumb mistake, I accidently deleted my folder of vortex mods in file explorer mid download. They are still showing in my vortex app but I am unable to remove/delete them from vortex. I get an error when trying. I just want to remove the mod list fully and restart my download but can't. Please help!!

Did you remove the download folder (containing archives) or the staging folder (containing subdirectories)?

You could just try to restart Vortex first, it usually checks if anything changed from the last time you ran it.

Further, very generally, if you write something like "I am unable to remove/delete them from vortex" it usually helps us help you a lot if you explain in detail what that means. As in: Do you get an error message? Or does the button to "remove" not appear on the mods? or does nothing happen if you click it?

The exact fie path was c:user/AppData/Roaming/Vortex/downloads/skyrimse

I deleted the entire skyrimse folder which had about 75% of the collection I was downloading completed in it. I'm not sure about the archive/subdirectory part. Restarting does not help.

My apologies for not explaining better. The collection I was downloading was "ESO-UI: Skyrim SE - High End". The collection is still visible in vortex and says its 75% complete. All the mods that were downloaded now say "Disabled" on the collection list. The remove button is there and I am able to click on it. After clicking remove I get an error saying "Failed to remove mods - No deployment method active". If I click the dropdown arrow next to remove and click "Show in mods" it navigates me to that page where I can try to remove specific mods. When I do, I get the same error saying "Failed to remove "whatever mod name" - No deployment method active".

Hopefully this explanation helps a little more.

Ok, so what you deleted were the archives, any mod that was already installed is still there.

Technically you should be able to hit the "Resume" button on the collection and it will (re-)download everything that's missing.

The failure to remove mods is a separate problem. You should have also gotten a notification (top right) telling you that no deployment method is available.

This is very likely because Vortex, by default, sets its staging folder on drive c: but for some games, including Skyrim, the staging folder is required to be on the same drive as the game (that's just how the game works unfortunately).

The way you fix that is: before you resume the collection, go to settings->mods. Besides the input field that says "Staging Folder" there is a button that says "Suggest", that's the easiest way to assign a "valid" folder. Then click Apply and follow the instructions on screen.

Once it's done you can either resume the collection installation or remove the mods if you like.
