Towniehh
Gage is a pretty well fleshed out companion but he has the same problem as strong, he aproves being a soulless monster that does nothing but kill and feed on the corpses of people and hate it if you're not using charisma to scare people into killing themselves or hand you all of their money. There's a mod called ''crimsomraider's likable strong'' that makes strong like lockpicking and entering power armor, but there is no mod that makes gage a little bit more civil so i dont have to become a war criminal for 5% more XP gain with kills and a little bit more damage resistance. StormWolf01
Literally All the companions have a quirk or two that don't always work out depending on your type of play through, or play style. And the perks themselves really aren't that hard to figure out, if you take a look at them in Xedit or the CK.However. Yeah. I agree. I don't like having to make decisions based on what a NPC likes or doesn't like. Thats why I use this: No Negative Affinity and No Affinity Cooldown. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3276You still get to hear them complain, but now you have options about what displays, and of course, don't get dinged the affinity penalty. After as many playthroughs as I've run, I've become very partial to the "And no F's were given" option. For Gage tho, you will also need to have the patch. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14525 Just make sure that you use the one with the same options that you used in the main file. ;)

Using an Alternate Start mod: This one https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56984, I Select to start as a mercenary somewhere else in the commonwealth and not the Sole Survivor waking up from cryo sleep in vault 111 and I roleplay as a mercernary, in other words I always ask for more money when it's an option in dialog. Want my Help? Pay up.2.Ellen The cartographer is a companion mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15962 With Affinity, Romance, Companion Perk but her likes and dislikes include but not limited to, not liking greedy ppl so you get a minus affinity for asking for more money in conversation when she follows you. She also dislikes the uses of drugs , excluding stimpaks, by the player character when she is a follower.3. Pick-me-up station is a raider settlement object that provides chems on a regular bases from the Nuka World DLC. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Pick-me-up_station?so=search 4. When Followers/Companions/ follow you to a settlement if they have nothing to do because you are building or talking to someone else, etc, after a few seconds they loiter/or sandbox, meaning they go sit on chair drinking coffee or lean on a wall reading the paper, if the settlement has the proper markers, Settlers do that too if not assigned to a Job. If a Pick-Me-up station is build in that settlement Companions/Followers/Setllers will go to the station and activate a drug use animation, puffing jet, injecting psycho, etc. They do not affect the stats of the NPC it's just the animation playing kinda like Cait does psycho behind your back or Bobby De Luca puffs on Jet. So Ellen disliking when you do drugs but going to the Pick-Me-Up Station first chance she gets is Ironically funny to me. Companions Affinity like/dislike are preset by the author/modder of the said companion. It's possible to remove them in xEdit but me I just like to stick to what was written and roleplay around it, it just takes longer to reach full affinity. StormWolf01
Ellen, is most likely Ellen the Cartographer. One of the first wave of fully functional companion mods. She has a quest, which may be part of what Dread's talking about. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15962 (Dunno, haven't played that one yet). Sandboxing has multiple uses as a phrase. I'm kinda guessing. But he may mean... just roaming around, not following the storyline or main quest line.
