Custom Mod Causing Microsoft Windows to "Act Up While in Game"?

Please advise:

[We posted in SRSE Technical also]

Maybe somebody has seen this behavior, new to us?

We were testing our custom mod.

While in game, with the game running, the Microsoft Windows chime sounded, and the spinning MS Windows-is-Busy Wheel appeared in-game.

We were still able to fire weapons and navigate, but the wheel followed our cross-hair movements. What might have caused this?

We experienced it twice, once in test mode, using console coc to enter our cell and test our mod, without loading any game.

Then we experienced it after loading a saved-game and testing our mod. Maybe this is a Creation Kit question?

We're wondering if some formulas we set up for custom enchantments were causing logic errors in game, and initiating windows issues?

Or is this a Vortex (our Mod organizer) behavior?

Ive run into windows UI overlapping if I launch the game, then interact with the desktop before the game screen takes over. The game window is active, but not necessarily "the active window" according to system/explorer

Basically in the above situation, input can potentially be processed by both Skyrim and Windows. So if your next window under Skyrim was File Explorer, you could be telling files to open or scan, or whatever while playing

Might be something else ofc. Just easily could be that tho

Thanks, @Sphered.

We found this dual behavior ONLY in Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE, and the Creation Kit. No other PC activity caused any chiming or busy spinning cursor-wheel icon.

We also checked the PC bios, fans, cabling, etc.

However, we fixed it, by repositioning the mouse-cable in its USB port, which did not work at first, until we ran the cable UNDER the desk, then logged off, and logged back on.

Huh? We do not understand, but the Skyrims and CK are not triggering the issue right now.
