ManOfGah
I've been thinking about stuff I might want to make for a mod, but I would like to see their lore friendliness first. so here it is: Skynet, the companion from fallout 2. I haven't played fallout 2, and couldn't really get many details on it from the vault wiki. What I would like to know is it possible he could journey to the wasteland, and meet the player? How did the player get him into the robobrain body in fallout 2? is it possible a program similar to skynet could find its way into the capital wasteland? Does VATS actually have any basis in the lore? if so, what allows the character to use it, his pipboy?
Skotte
Does VATS actually have any basis in the lore? if so, what allows the character to use it, his pipboy? VATS is really just a bit of an homage to the turn-based aspect of fallout 1-2 IMHO it's not supposed to be something that the player-character perceives just the gamer. VATS in lore: not really, but it can be very helpful if things get rough in a fight.
Astorius
Skynet? Very yes. I would enjoy seeing him again. He, Marcus, Cassidy, and Vic were my companions throughout the game.
Drakron
VATS is not a homage to turn-base. VATS mimics the selective targeting of body parts that existed in FO1,FO2 and FO:T, even if there is no "lore" (I hate that word) about it we can pass it off as a ability of Pip-Boy due to the name. As for Skynet ... I do not see any reason why he could not, of course I never liked it because it was Yet Another Easter Egg in Fallout 2.
