sebastianfava
Why can't anyone make new ones? the other day posted a request for some new melee animations and was told not possible yet. just wondering what's stopping you when there is already an animation mod that changes the normal jump animations. not a moder so try to explain it to me as simply as possible.use small words. :thanks:
Deleted910962User
It is very possible but it's gonna be hard to make one. But Fallout 3 seriously needs a animation overhaul.. Also it needs to have certain animations only when wearing a power armor (running, walking, idle stance, holding guns/aiming guns. etc). I'm not happy at all with those animations when wearing a power armor, especially that T-51b one that I liked very much in older Fallouts. In Fallout 3 it's just awful watching your character walking or running with that armor.. It's terrible to look how those arm muscle places go right throught the chest area, even when standing in that armor.. if Bethesda were lazy with making different animations for power armors then they could have at least made the chest area of T-51b armor WAY smaller so the part of the arm muscle area wouldn't be half way inside the *ban* chest. Also I have complaints about the T-51b power armor's helmet.. it's too big, it should be smaller and thinner like in the older fallouts. Anyways.. back to the animations, methinks there is a easier animation editor needed. That nifscope isn't newbie friendly.

junin
Whoever said it was not possible, did not know what they were talking about. there are mods out now that add or change animations. And there will be more in the future. you have 3 options 1. learn how to make your own. 2. start a thead requesting the animations you want. 3. wait, sooner or later there will be new mele animtions. DMorgado
What I'd like to see was a tutorial describing the rough process of getting animations in-game.I'm using Max, how do I go about getting any animation I do there into Fallout?
Deleted910962User
Those new animation have to be in .kf format. And getting new animations replacing the older ones is the easiest one.. the animation has to be in the right folder and with a name of a animation that is in "Fallout - Meshes.bsa" package. Hardest part is making a animation.. I would do it myself but currently I'm having hard time understanding nifscope. DMorgado.. is that "max" program a animations editor or has a animations editor in it? and does it support .kf files and is it easier than nifscope? Deleted1084753User
That 'max' program is 3d Studio Max, a couple of thousand dollars' worth of professional modelling and animation software :)

SpeedyB64
I've tried getting animations out of max, I was unsuccessful, it can be very tricky, it is possible (I believe Phitt made some good animated objects for Oblivion, so it should also be possible to get a .kf out too) You could try to ask him or you could also go to the Niftools website and ask around there.
