Eshenaleros
Think about this - each and every monster in oblivion, as well as those added by mods, has a definite attack pattern. A rat just keeps lunging for you, a troll hops around, and Will-o-wisps turn invisible and annoy you with debuffs. So, I want to hear your strategies for dealing with these beasts, including suggested spells, tips for dealing with their attack patterns, and any other information you find relevant. I'll start us off Will-o-The-Wisp If you can get them, life detection and spell resistance/absorbtion are likely to be your best bets with these guys. when battle begins they turn invisible and close in with touch spells. keep in mind though, that many of these debuffs they cast on you are absorbtions - and thus a line of red leads back to the wisp. it can be at chameleon 100%, but that red line will point it out. the trick is to kill it before it drains all your health away, and that'll require a good weapon or a powerful spell to take care of it in a few shots. something to note is that most, if not all, wisp spells are touch. this means that when it goes invisible, it's only direction will be towards you. if you know where it was coming from, then it shouldn't be a problem to swing your weapon wildly in the right direction. -Submitted by Eshenaleros For Will O's, use a ranged spell or enchanted item that casts ranged. They come at you in a pretty straight line, you'll rarely miss one if you shoot where they were, whether they are currently visible or not. As early as possible, create a spell that paralyzes for just a second or two while it absorbs health. The animation for paralyze takes the victim out of the fight for at least 2 seconds longer than the spell effect. Combine it with a large/long enough fortify magicka that you can cast it several times in rapid succession in a combat situation. Paralyze works near %100 with bears, lions and minotaurs, not so well with skeletons. If you have a well built spell of that type and a decent invisiblity spell, it's nearly a game breaker: go invisible, make a sneak attack, then paralyze and absorb health before the enemy knows what's hit them. -Submitted by Oruboris --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clannfears They're easy. they charge and right before they get to you they leap. Time your attack to catch them in mid-air and they take heavy damage. it also knocks them back allowing you a quick strike Addendum: Clannfears have an obvious attack pattaern, but they (not the runts) have a reflect damage effect on them. beware, as it can be fatal for melee combatants who have gotten their health low over time -Submitted by Dezdimona, Addendum by Eshenaleros --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minotaurs: Minotaurs are easy to beat... given that your not surrounded. Minotaurs have two attacks. Attacking you with with its weapon or headbutting. You can block, but heatbutt is actually a spell. If you stand and fight, it will kill you with melee. They are not particularily fast luckily, and therefore are best countered with archers considering mages are slightly slower. Just whip out a bow, hold a block pose, circle around a bit, then wait for it to hit. Just before it does, release and run backwards. This is because it may use its headbutt, destroying a large bit of you armor. Once it's attacked, take a shot or two and hold your block pose again. If you have a high acrobatic skill, you can try rolling around for a bit. If your fighting more than two (you can hit the other with a short paralyse spell in between shots), Hit them with an area of effect paralyse spell for 1 second, run back a bit, and shoot the one closest or still standing. -Submitted by Master Marksman --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Umbra When you fight with Umbra the best way to kill her is to keep distance. Even if you is a warrior cuz she can hit really hard. You should try to buy up a lot of arrows then jump up on the pillar/stone/crate in the middle, Then just sit and shoot until she drops dead to floor. You can also use different kinds of spells like if you use midas you can shoot the growth spell that gets them stuck in the floor. If you get her stuck like that you can keep running around her and hitting. -Submitted by Orctor
spyro1201
The Best way to kill creatures without magic resistance is to enchant your weapon with paralyze. It's even better if your an archer.

Master Marksman
I'm assuming walking around with 100% chameleon doesn't count? Minotaurs: Minotaurs are easy to beat... given that your not surrounded. orctor
Wait a second you want us to talk about how we beat those monsters or do you want us to tell about how we kill different creatures? Umbra: When you fight with Umbra the best way to kill her is to keep distance.
