trollberserker
I've been trying to edit an existing mesh then replace it in game but I'm stuck now. I managed to import the mesh to Blender and edit it to my linking, now I have an edited mesh as obj. file, I can even import it to NifSkope but only to an existing file. I tried just removing the old mesh and leave the new one but apparently this is not the way, the game doesn't see it. I'm at this point, managed to import new mesh to Nifskope, it even assigned textures correctly, now I have no idea what to do. Can anyojne give me a step-by-step guide for complete dummies how to make mesh replacement work? Pellape
You need to install the Niftools to your Blender. Which Blender are you using? I use v2.9 but anything between v2.7 - v3.3 will do, even older Blender, but I have forgot how they works, as i have not used the v2.6 or older Blender sinse 2008. We cannot see at your screenshot which version of NetImmerse MESH (nif) you are trying to save. The properties at the right side do not look right really. Load an original mesh into Nifscope and peek on the right side what is required. The NiNode is the origin, the 0 , 0 , 0 coordinate of the mesh, in Blender it is an object called - EmptyThe NiTriShape is the 3D data and the textures and UV. With an original mesh loaded into Nifscope, you can click [Ctrl]-[N] and get a nerw nifskop window opened, where you can load your obj and then delete all visual Branches from the first window and copy your NitriShape branch and paste it into the NiNode in the first window you did open. I could make a screenshot on how to do it, but, this is better: Start installing Niftools Blender Importer/Exporter and also share that mesh, so i can peek at it, and then i will try to make a step by step instruction. Will it be a carpet or a creature or a wall trophy? I use v2.6 Niftools but you could try the latest version as well. What v2.6 fails to do is to export a collision mesh, but if you want a collision, I will guide you later on how to do it but lest first try to make a mesh that really works in Oblivion together.NifTools Blender v2.6NifTools Blender v0.0.14 (They did start all over again at some point but try this one first and if it fails, try the 2.6 above as that one works, well not for collisions)You install these plugins from the Preferences - Add-Ons. Just follow their video and it takes a second to install it. You still need to load the mesh you export from Blender into NifSkope and save it from there to make it work properly. Nifskope will do some magic with it. Edited September 17, 2022 by Pellape
trollberserker
I wanted to make a mesh replacement for Mountain Lion's head Ok, I have blender 2,8. I managed to install the addon and import nif. but it won't let me export nifs, I dunno why, they just don't save. Anyway I managed to load original mesh nif. to Blender, resculpt it to what I wanted, then exported my edited mesh as obj. But now... Nifskope doesn't really do anything and I still don't know what am I supposed to do to make it work. When I try to import obj. on blank file it doesn't show up. Here's the link to the file I resculpted in blender:The one imported from NIF that doesn't work at all back in Nifskope - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gZMyJf1xA0GxjHzmsozwic5YYwABnWrG/view?usp=sharingThe one imported from OBJ that works in Nifskopebut has different values - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yaPcbOQRJvzx5RbMVlUkQIZwGPwKSzPQ/view?usp=sharing Edited September 29, 2022 by trollberserker
