Ips displays and eye strain

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just got a new computer and i have to buy a new display to go with it.

I currently own a Samsung T220 monitor but it causes mayor eye strain and has to be replaced.

I was hoping that switching to ips based screens would solve the problem but i can't choose between the

following displays:

- HP 23xi

This was my first choice but i noticed that its glossy and am not sure if that would

cause eye strain or not.

- Philips 23C4QHSB

The store where i will probably buy my display also had this one

- LG 23EA63V-P

Another contender but i will have to buy this one at a different store.

If you have anyone of these three screens don't hesitate to reply but any general advice

is also welcome.

i know this is a slight necro, but i figured id weigh in. i use a Dell 24" IPS, and i have no eye strain what so ever. ive sat in front of this screen for several unblinking hours with no eye watering of discomfort. ive spent those hours gaming, reading, watching TV/Movies/Youtube, etc, so an assortment of things, and no problems what so ever, i think the quality is amazing. i dont notice input lag, though im not so sure i would. and ill be honest, not so sure i would really notice a PQ difference, but yea. i dont play CoD or anything, and the couple times i went on BF3 and died, it was from me sucking, not input lag lol.

i love my IPS monitor.
