The listed Average Download Speed was what Steam showed when re-downloading Skyrim Special Edition (about 14GB's in size). Sometimes the speed can be faster in other areas, such as when downloading a patch for an MMO or something, which has reached around 75MB/s (no, not installing the patch, actually downloading it). Nexus Mods/Vortex averages around 1.5MB/s but has reached as high as 2.6MB/s, and on very rare occasions will drop below 1MB/s. These caps have been like this since date of purchase for Lifetime Premium.
Pickysaurus
If you're getting that capped speed for every single server it's very likely to be a limit imposed by your ISP or a routing issue. If you have access to a VPN you could try seeing if that increases your speed.
AuroanVaren
Just tried using a VPN and nothing changed. I'll call my ISP next and see if it's something on there end, but I predict they might tell me it's not on there end. I say this only because I had a different ISP (Spectrum) when I first purchased Lifetime Premium, and the same exact thing happened with them. Meanwhile, my buddy, who currently has Spectrum, just downloaded my entire modlist after making an account and purchasing Premium for a month all within an hour just yesterday (September 26th, 2022). His speeds weren't capped. Here's what I've tried so far:-Logging out and back in on both Vortex and NexusMods-Used different browsers-Enable and Disable Adblockers-Used Browser-Only VPN, then overall PC VPN, then both-Changed between all servers for Premium users-Tried Vortex and Manual download links-Increased Download Threads via Vortex (it's now back at 1, the default) From what I've read, Lifetime Premium is no longer available for purchase, only Monthly and Yearly subscriptions. I've tried repurchasing Premium in an attempt to see if maybe it'd "refresh" my account/subscription because maybe it's glitched or something since I have a paid service that's no longer available? But unfortunately, I can't do that since I have Premium forever. If my ISP tells me it's nothing on their end, what other suggestions might be available? Pickysaurus
Your Lifetime Premium plan is still valid, don't worry about that. In terms of downloads Lifetime Premium (legacy) and current subscription Premium members are treated exactly the same. My account is a Lifetime Premium I purchased before I started working here. The test links you used for the results are not subject to any restrictions (i.e. they don't have any relevance to your membership and you can use them without an account). All the servers we offer are spread over different ISPs in different locations around the world so whatever is causing the limiting must be "closer to home". Perhaps you have a mobile data plan or something you can try as a connection that isn't your broadband just to see if it's any better?
AuroanVaren
Just wanted to give an update and say I discovered how to fix the problem incase anyone else is having the problem no matter what they try (VPN, calling ISP, routing, etc.) I was having capped DL speed issues when downloading FF14, just as I was on NexusMods. Same speeds and everything. I came across a forum where someone reposted a solution that helped them and others, and now helped me. Here's what I did and now I can download at the traditional 30-40+MB instead of just the lame 1-2MB :) After a day later i found the solution on Reddit by "McNammys"In command prompt as administrator*, type in: netsh interface tcp show global*See if it's disabled, and then if it is, type: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal Hope this helps others! Spread the word!
