BlackBirdLT
I have pretty a lot mods installed in my NV. Usually, I can load the game, get some exclamation marks as textures are missing but that's ok. But lately I cannot run the game as I get a "blue screen of death". What may cause such a sudden and severe crash? Is there a way to fix it?my mod list http://pastebin.com/3VVXwWt1
luthienanarion
Get rid of about half of those plugins. Loading any more than 139 will cause severe issues.
BlackBirdLT
I see. 139 is a holy grail of NV mods. By the way, is there a way to merge plugins? Let's say I have tons of armor and weapon mods. I'd like to merge their plugins into one so there's not let's say 50 of them activated but just one. In this way I could lower the number of active plugins without "disabling" them. Moreover, would this help at all?
bjornl
With some care you can merge mods. Just be careful which ones. FNVEdit is one way. There is also another script on nexus which does it supposedly simpler (but I have not tried that script). FNVedit has some renaming options to avoid conflicts; that is the way I'd go. luthienanarion
There are methods, but there is a lot more to merging plugins than most users think. It's better to just try not to over-mod the game or seek alternatives to mods that use more than one plugin. The way I see things, plugins that add a single gun or armor to the game aren't worth loading. You can usually merge such plugins without issue, but you may want to avoid merging mods that are heavily scripted unless you know how to fix the scripts in them if they break. Whatever you do, don't merge any plugin that has an MCM menu.
drithius
You need to downsize before you even think about merging mods; you won't be getting around to playing any time soon if you set out to merge 100+ mods into a single esp.
