simon445
All of the sudden everything is running what seems to be 50 precent faster than ever, I fly everywhere as in run faster than hell, every message I get in game, such as you cannot fast travel from this location, goes by way faster, it's insane I don't know what I did, but if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Argomirr
Messages dissappear faster too? Sounds to me as some messed up game settings. I'm not sure wich one, though. Could be that your Speed and Athletics are way too high, but that wouldn't explain why messages go by faster.
bben46
Did you change anything between when it worked right and now?Either in the game - such as add or remove a mod, change a setting in the Oblivion.ini, or in your computer, add or remove any components or programs, make any changes to your BIOS, overclock the CPU? simon445
Ok, So I figured out what I did, there is a setting in the INI that I adjusted, iFPSClamp, thats the one that I first changed to 60 to get rid of stuttering, that just slowed stuff down, so I changed it to ten and that was why I was flying everywhere, so I changed it to zero, and everything is fine now, but I still get stuttering, is that just a fact of life or is there a way to get rid of it? I have 2 7900 GT's and 2 gigs of ram and an AMD 64 X2 so should I still be getting stuttering or what do yall think? Simon
bben46
Even though you have 2G of ram, its likely that quite a bit is being taken by programs running in the background. Windows is famous for allowing any program to set up shop and steal a small piece of ram when the computer starts. One example is the HP printer drivers. they will always load and take some ram, then insist on loading another program that takes another piece to check for updates every so often ( how often do you suppose they update the printer drivers). Then if you ave a firewall it takes some, and a virus scanner takes up quite a bit, plus it takes up processor cycles to check every disk read and write. And if toy have a anti spyware program it will do the same thing. Then there is the windows indexing service that will suddenly decide it absolutely must index everything on your hard disk right now. Lots more like these. Shut down everything you can to play. disconnect from the internet to keep from being interrupted by things like IM programs and any other programs that think they have to call home every so often. Then there are the actual virus and spyware programs that do the same thing but hide it from you.Run a virus scan, a spyware scan, hard drive clean up, registry cleaner, then defrag.Kill as many background processes as you can, when you play. Here is a program that might help, The free version of Game booster http://majorgeeks.com/Game_Booster_d6148.html
