ok well there are 2 things one you can use this link it will evaluate you're pc for certain games so you don't have to ask or ask an expert

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

but the gpu will grant only some much quality till the cpu and ram take it's toll

but you should be able not saying on full but good enough to play it,

if you already have it on xbox 360 there is not much of a point unless u want:

1.better graphs

2.mods

3.customizable

4.more option and easy to use inventory systems and all

plus more buttons on a key board

What is the graphics subsystem on the laptop? Most will run Oblivion, a lot of them will look better than a xbox.

3gb ram, vista, and 1.8ghz probably won't cut it. Playing a game that used both mouse and keyboard can also be rather hard to do on a laptop unless you have a separate mouse... which tends to defeat the whole point of using a laptop.

where can i see the graphic subsystem on my computer?

This will tell you the name and model of the video card:

Right-Click "My Computer" --> Manage --> Device Manager --> Expand "Display adapters"

or

Start --> Control Panel --> System --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager --> Expand "Display adapters"

You can get more info by running "dxdiag" (Start --> Run). Then click on the Display tab and it will give even further information such as the amount of memory on the video card as well as run diagnostic tests to ensure DirectX is functioning properly.

The non-gaming PC that I am working on right now is using a Radeon X1300/X1500 Series video card with 256 MB of RAM...which is good enough to run Oblivion but will not run well with all options maxed out...this is a business-class PC that is a bit older and not intended for gaming but it "can" run games.

Sounds like mine -- I have that card on a HPCompaq DC7100. It's 3GHz CPU, which helps. Oblivion's OK though if I don't want maxed settings. I'd get a better card but the PC is a low-profile one that needs half-height cards, which limits the choice.
