ZeonicGlory
Comparing fantasy to squishy sci-fi, heresy. No, I'm referencing hotblooded, GAR, hard mecha.
duckdude
Liberty prime dies? Excelent, now the Brotherhood infadels don`t stand a chanse against the supreme technology of the Enclave.
jgarling
I think there should be a HAL-inspired death talk with liberty prime. "I'm scared Dave" "Will I dream?" "I am Liberty Prime - version 2.0 - number 20102..." Something like that.
Astorius
How people can think the Enclave are the good guys is beyond me. Watch the Fallout 2 opening.
Sporknife
They're not bad guys, they just want to repopulate as fast as possible and not mutate. of course, this involves killing alot of innocent people. Really, if the enclave had no resistance the wasteland would have been repopulated and there'd be some resemblance of civilisation.
Astorius
Killing many innocents for the sake of a few is not a good tradeoff.
aeonthraen
@aeonthraen: Your logic is laced with COMMUNISM. Old war machines don't always fall apart. For example, Gunbuster was fully functional after over 15 years and staying strong when fighting the enemy alongside its mass-production Sizzler models which were statistically better than it. God knows how old the Escaflowne is, and it doesn't fall apart, even when mopping the floor with highly advanced Alseides. Granted, 200 years is a long time, but what really killed it is an Enclave nuclear sucker punch. hehe..yah you got a point of logic there. there ain't much that can survive and 50 kiloton tactical nuke straight to the face >,<. Zeonic also has a point on the terms of a mech. it was probably built with some of the best money could buy. I mean look at Weltall from the anime Xenogears. that damn machine was almost 10,000 years old and still functioned like it was new. many machines IRL can still function quite well even considering the amount of time. the Right Brothers first aeroplane can still fly and the props still work. my grandfather had an authentic Civil War .50 Caliber Musket that still worked. so it's all really possible Liberty Prime can stay in hibernation one moment and full combat readiness the next =). still I will miss his big butt saving me from getting ripped apart by explosions (I play a scout type with little or no armor and I travel light). kind of like the Tauren from WoW. the trolls have a name for them which pretty much means in their language, "Arrow Cushion." Rockatanskiy
Well technically, aren't all the military-grade laser weapons pre-war? Aren't they in the same condition as Optimus Prime?
duckdude
How people can think the Enclave are the good guys is beyond me. Watch the Fallout 2 opening. Really are the Brotherhood of steel any better? All they want is technology. What teh bos were afraid of the enclave doing to the purifier is beyond me, were tehy afraid the enclave were going to use it...to make fresh water? (they would not use the Fev since not even col.Autumn was wicked enought to do something like that) Oh noes that would be a tradgedy. Instead of just letting the enclave take the purifier and letting them distribute the water (with vertibirds most likely, far superior to cattle transport of the Bos). Also, both the Enclave and Bos fight against ghouls, and seems to hate the locals. So my conclusion is that beth did a great job not just pointing at the enclave and saying thy are the bad guys.In my opinion the Bos are very selfish when they choose to make the Enclave their top priority target, with all hte Super mutants, slavers, talon mercs, and random bad guys roaming the wastes. So many lives lost (both Bos and enclave), and so many resources wasted, when they could ahve used it on fighting the real threat instead of each other. The Fallout 2 opening however.....Well different Enclave. Never really understood that opening, why would teh Enclave shoot some of the only pure breeds availible? EDIT: Also i hate the Liberty prime because he threw a nuke at me -.-
sp86
@duckdude Every word in that post is irrelevant cause you get a finger off every enclave you kill. :P
