I Don't Understand Why This Won't Work

Ok, I just installed Fallout 3 and for some reason when I try to start a new game or load a save, I get the "The Program Has Stopped Working" message.

I've attached my dxdiag as a text file.

 

I mean, I know why it won't work, it's because of the Intel chipset, but what I don't understand is why Oblivon will run just fine on my comp, but this game won't. :unsure:

do you have the current drivers installed for ur graphics card? im no computer whiz, and most of the stuff in the window was way beyond me, but i have often found that when a game wont run and its the type of error u describe, its something simple like a driver update.

One possibility is that you may need to update your directX (Fallout3 does require a later version than Oblivion)

I know this likely wont help you, but just throwing this out there. If you have started running mods and you don't have a mod downloaded for a mod patch you are trying to run, it will generate that error message.

right frist off update everthing windows, 3d card sound card , then get direct x updates here

update fallout to 1.1 patch and then its up to you if you wish to get 1.4 or 1.5 but they have bugs i would get the fake patch

also try reinstalling Vista sp 1 that can fix alot of things as well

 

and see if that works :)

 

hmmm Card name: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family you know i was reading somewhere that all these cards,

dont work in fallout 3 at all................................
