I just got an idea for a house made entirely of dead (or are they?) zombies. The place is jacked with illusion spells so when you near you become entranced. (Or maybe it just doesn't look quite like zombie carcasses the way it is constructed). Either way, you will not see zombie arms coming out of the walls at the beginning. Instead you will be greeted by guests who stunned you. But they reassure you with their overbearing charisma to stay a night and that "flesh-eating creatures in the night" have been reported nearby. So you stay, it all seems like a pretty relaxed and entertaining party until... you start to see oddities, arms in the walls, and small decreases in your intelligence, (just had a little too much to drink!) and hidden bloody scrawled notes etc. The notes don't say much and give you little hints that something is wrong, the hosts cover up atrocities with euphemisms but you start to see strange allusions in their words... but soon your intelligence and speechcraft decrease to such a minimal amount that the guests go irate with your disrespectful abhorrent presence and try to kill you. At some point the place becomes what it is, a house of mangled arms and heads etc. of zombies. And then you turn into a zombie. Weakened as a zombie, at your last string of hope you find some way of overcoming them and returning to your normal form, and then solve the mystery of this deranged place.

 

(This doesn't have to be that in-depth, just an idea that sprouted out of my mind to create a house made of dead. I just want to hear your thoughts! To make it easier, Daedric building textures from Oblivion might help.)

I imagine a house made of corpses would have to be done specially in Blender, but it wouldn't be too hard. Especially compared to most other such projects. The "halfway" creepiness could be specific objects that fade into being when the player is close and fade out again when the player moves away, or they could just appear and stay there as the player's intelligence drops. It might be nicer to have a curse that can be resolved without necessarily doing that to the player, especially since players rarely bother to eat/drink and might have Restore Attribute spells ready to spam. Flesh-eating monsters are also more often considered targets than threats. You'd also need something to keep them occupied during the party like an exploration quest of some kind, or they might find themselves not knowing whether they should stay or go to advance things.

Thank you for trying, Aragorn. And Login, good ideas, but for the fade part is that in context of zombie arms coming out of the walls and stuff? Or enemies? Cause if I walked up to an enemy who was invisible then they just appear really close and disappear as I go away, I'd figure out really fast they were real, unless they were jumping or floating around real fast. Also it would just seem like the video setting actor fade had been turned way down, not like a hallucination or something. Also, if you or someone can try and make this, that would be pretty awesome. I (still) do not know how to make mods.

I meant the fading part for the arms and notes and whatnot. They would vanish entirely if you got far enough away, I'd imagine. Once you get far enough for there to be enemies, everything would be persistent.

 

If anyone wants to take a stab at it, I could probably supply the house and scripts, but am currently working on other projects and can't really flesh it out (no pun intended).
