nhm414
Hi, I'm new to this site and to the practice of modding. I've downloaded Dimon's TYPE3 female body type and have the 3 .inf files (SLIM, BASE, BODY). The instructions in the txt file instructed me to "open" those .inf files. How does one open an .inf file? I've installed the Mod Manager and the Archive Invalidation app, just so you know. Thanks in advance!

nhm414
You dont need to open them. Read the instructions again. Can you please just give me the steps needed for this mod to work? I am completely clueless right now. I'm sure after becoming acquainted with this site, I'll be helping others, but for now I need guidance. TGBlank
I don't know how the file is packed, however, i do know no mod will ask you to open a nif file as part of the installation.so... the file description says: MINIMUM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEWBS: PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW REQUIREMENTS AND INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROBLEMS.There's many files, I cannot rearrange them for easier navigation, I hate reading manuals myself- but in this case, just do it. Please. FIRST you go get REQUIREMENTS,both are utilities, designed to make life of every mod user easier. There's absolutely no reason of not having them. Then you get and install file TYPE3bodyV3 , and then either file TYPE3V1TEXTURES or TYPE3V2TEXTURES That's it - EVERYTHING else is optional. REQUIREMENTS:================================================================================================1. FOMM http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6402. ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944================================================================================================ INSTALL: You will NEED to download and install TYPE3bodyV3 and either TYPE3V1TEXTURES or TYPE3V2TEXTURES . So, 2 files are REQUIRED for body to work properly. VERY simple instructions how to are inside each archive. Also,as separate option file, there is uncompressed high quality normal map (21meg) for V2 body texture. And another OPTION - my face textures(2 variants),adjusted to work better with all variants of TYPE3 textures.================================================================================================TYPE3body V3------------This file will install body model, there are 3 to choose from Install: 1.Unzip/unrar to any location.2.Open either BASE,BERRY or SLIM folder 3.Copy contents (folder named meshes) into your Data folder4.Allow for overwrite =============================================================================================TYPE3texture V2----------------Completely new body texture. Feet were textured by kiwi82mx -thanks man!-and he did a great job. Chokers are highly recommended (as for any other texture for all Bethesda games actually,LOL) Good mod with chokers (among other kool stuff) Kikais Equipment by KikaimegamiLink: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4616 Texture contains pretty busy normal(height/bump) map. Unfortunately, due to compression, normal map suffers serious distortion. If you see some parts "tiled" when really close-this is it. This not a bug, this is limitation of game engine(Hey, it's a GAME!) For freaks (like me) and screenshoot whores(like me) who also have desent rig uncompressed normal map included as an option. This one is good, but is 4 times of compressed (21 meg). It is a separate download (obviously). I run it with no apparent performance hit with up to 8 bodies rendered -but my rig is about 2 years old, still better then average. Install: 1.Unzip/unrar to any location.3.Copy contents (folder named textures) into your Data folder4.Allow for overwrite As i expected, it doesn't ask you to open any nif file, it asks you to open the folder. TGBlank
*sigh* downloaded the stupid file. Internal file structure is: [TYPE3bodyV3]|-[TYPE3 BASE body] -> [Meshes] -> [Characters] -> [_male] -> femaleupperbody.nif|-[TYPE3 BERRY body] -> [Meshes] -> [Characters] -> [_male] -> femaleupperbody.nif|-[TYPE3 SLIM body] -> [Meshes] -> [Characters] -> [_male] -> femaleupperbody.nif\-Type3body V3.txt You're supposed to copy one of the bold folders to the fallout data folder. As the instructions state. If what you're seeing is different from this, re-download. If it persists, use 7-zip.

Where can I locate the Meshes folder?
