Fully leveled major skills

I'm under the impression that this has probably been asked before, but I can't find the topic. Please do redirect if you know.

 

I'm wondering, what will happen if I fully level up my seven major skills before my character's level goes all the way up.

I would assume that once your seven major skills have been increased to the limit then you would be at the highest level you could be. But I don't know. I've never leveled a character so much that there skills are full.

Once all of your major skills reach 100, you stop leveling up. Your overall level progress meter basically gets stuck forever at whatever percentage your final mastered skill put it at.

 

If it really bothers you, you can reset it 0 or force one extra level up through the console. If "cheating" isn't your thing, send your character to prison and shave off a couple major skill points and re-earn them until your level meter is evenly filled.

 

That being said, the mastering all of your skills is the only thing that stops level-ups. There is no max level lock like Bethesda put in Fallout 3. Theoretically, you can level up infinitely by using the jail method.
