  1. Thanks for the replies guys, I'm not sure what you mean about the PSU and RAM thing though. Not very hardware-savvy. As for evidence, I'm quite certain its failing because now I'm seeing red streaks across my screen, and a few months before that I was having stray vertices appearing in every video game I played, the frequency increasing with the render load (Team Fortress 2 - few stray vertices, FNV/Minecraft - Lots of stray vertices). Edit: Its definitely failing, because everything's functioning fine, apart from games, which I haven't tried, now that I switched to a backup video card.
  2. My video card has started screwing up huge today, something I'd been expecting for a while. I'm going to get a new one this Sunday, but most of my hardware is also pretty old, I'm wondering what else should I upgrade while I'm there. My current setup is: MSI P35 Neo3 Intel Core Duo CPU E2800 @ ~2.7 GHz 2048 RAM (DDR2 I think) ATi Radeon HD 4650 It would be nice if someone could recommend something where I can play New Vegas or Metro 2033 at max settings. Also I have to start up Windows 7 in safe mode now because of said video card failing, is that normal?
  3. Ohh, scripting. Oh well. Thanks Throm, you've been great help.
  4. Thanks for the help, Throm. I don't see any way to introduce variables though, sadly. Also, does anyone know what does fAVDHealthEnduranceOffset do?
  5. I think the problem with remaking Fallout 1 and 2 is that they have a much bigger map than Fallout 3/New Vegas, and since they're both isometric top down games, we have no idea how lumpy the terrain is. As for legal issues, I think it would depend on the company holding the rights. Blizzard shut down a Starcraft mod for Warcraft 3, and apparently Valve shut down a zombie mod for the Source engine (because they were trying to sell L4D back then), but then they seem perfectly fine with the Black Mesa: Source mod.
  6. I'm trying to alter the way Endurance affects your total hit points. As it is, Endurance only grants you a greater base health and doesn't affect how many hit points you gain upon leveling up. I've been searching geck.bethsoft.com for the appropriate values to alter, but I can't find them. Any help would be mostly appreciated.
  7. If you stay around the Goodsprings to Novac area, you will hardly find any energy weapons. Go to the Strip and follow the NCR patrols till they come into conflict with fiends and mow them down. Fiends carry energy weapons sometimes. I've found several plasma rifles, laser rifles, some pistols, and laser RCWs without lifting a finger.
  8. I am wearing light armour, I've checked around and people can sneak around fine with 30 sneak, and I'm walk-sneaking to be sure. As I've mentioned, regardless of any other factor, the enemy immediately detects me once I step out of cover.
  9. I'm having this problem trying to sneak up on enemies here because they almost always have some retarded eagle vision. I have 68 sneak, 8 agility, its 4 am, the target's sleeping. However, the moment I get 10 meters or closer, he can see me unless I use cover, nevermind that he's not even facing me. Anyone else have such a problem?
  10. That works too, but when FO3Edit isn't working, suicide sometimes helps.
  11. You could try killing yourself, and let the game automatically load the last saved game. It tends to fix some crashing problems, strangely.
  12. I'm playing Mothership Zeta, and Sally won't stop playing this raise-finger-to-lips animation and shushing. Not only is it really annoying, its getting in the way of her crawling into the vent, thereby preventing me from progressing further. The console commands resetquest, disable/enable don't work. I can walk past the door with tcl, but I'm under the impression there'll be repercussions. Anyone have a problem like this before?
  13. I had been playing a purely-explosives character up to level 15, in which I would never use a gun to kill someone (maybe a missile launcher, but rarely, because the damned thing was so heavy), only grenades, mines, and a melee weapon. Naturally, due to the scarcity of grenades, I spent alot of time trading tech with the Outcasts. Using FWE and WMK, I always kept a pistol fitted with a laser sight and silencer to blow up anything that I suspected the enemy wasn't going to detonate themselves, a bunch of junk to craft grenades whenever I found a workbench, about 80 grenades and 30 mines at any time, and a super sledgehammer (weapon's ability to knockdown > everything else). Now I'm just playing energy weapons only, which is awfully hard, I'm finding, due to ammo scarcity and costs.
