Iameggman
I'm having trouble completing the quest ''I Forgot to Remember to Forget'', because i'd already completed and done most of the things that gave me history points with Boone, i wasn't able to start the quest. So i then read up about what i could do and what actually gave me the history points, i completed ''I Put a Spell on You'' [][] by catching Curtis in the control tower and killing him with Boone present, i also went back to the fort, and resurrected Vulpes and Caesar and killed them again, after i killed Caesar Boone spoke to me about how it won't be a problem, i've also spoken to Bitter-Root and Manny Vargas about the massacre at Bitter springs, i also read that Nelson would trigger a conversation, although i'd already retaken Nelson without Boone, i went back there and it still triggered a conversation, which was nice, i also completed Eye for an Eye with Boone present, but again i'd already killed everyone at Cottonwood Cove, so i just said they'd already been taken care of and the quest was completed. Soon after i spoke to Boone about his wife and he should go back to Bitter Springs, he declined, and shortly after he spoke to me again and said he'll go, we went to the camp and he told me a bit more, he then said we should go to the Coyote Tail Ridge, so we go there, and nothing happens doesn't trigger a conversation, so i immediately thought do i not have enough history points? What more can i do? So I go to the wiki and i see a command which should set my history points with Boone to 5 set ''96bcd''.nOpenness to 5 i tried this and i get ''missing variable name in set command'', i got the same message when entering the command to see how many history points i have with Boone which was show ''9gbcd''.nOpenness i got the exact same message. I had similar problems with triggering Raul's conversation about Ranger Andy, and i was trying the command set ''000e61a5''.MetRangerAndy to 1 or 2, i got the same message ''missing variable name in set command'' i also tried many other suggested commands to fix this problem with Raul and Ranger Andy, none worked, got the same message... I did however find a fix, a mod that added a script to force Raul to start the conversation about Ranger Andy, as soon as i activated the mod and went in game, Raul immediately started talking to me and the quest was done, but so far i've had no luck with Boone, hoping that anyone could help with this. Iameggman
Not to sure what you mean by too many quotes and set variable to value? I've tried entering the commands without the quotes, but it still doesn't work, the link didn't help me much but it did lead me to go on the talk section for the I Forgot to Remember to Forget quest, one of the posts suggested a mod called A Present for Boone, where you can make presents for Boone and in return get history points, so i made 5 to get the necessary points to trigger the conversation with Boone at Coyote Tail Ridge but nothing happened. So instead i decided to reset the quest entirely and then give him another 5 presents hoping that it may trigger again, nope. So I then just clicked on Boone and entered the command rdf which resets the dialogue soon after i did that he did speak to me and i was able to start the quest again, we went to Bitter Springs, triggered the conversation and again sadly, when i went to the Coyote Tail Ridge, nothing happened... It's getting very frustrating.
bjornl
Your previous post before you edited it had more quotes. It was edited a full hour after my comment. Editing it after the fact like that only confuses the issue. You edited out some of the quotes and then ask me what I mean by too many quotes. The link I posted seemed to be about the same issues you were asking about and how others solved it. I strongly suspect that your issues with Boone have to do with your console actions and that you can more easily solve Boone's conversation by loading a save before you tried to fiddle/cheat your way past it and just go legion hunting. After a few days of positive reinforcement (and a decidedly negative rep with the legion seems to help as well) you can begin talking to him. Not all at once. But bit by bit. I've played past that point multiple times and never had an issue unless I was playing neutral towards the Legion.
Iameggman
Solved the issue, i just setstage 001349a7 40 and Boone spoke to me, so i was able to finish the quest.
