Skyrim Crashes all of a sudden.

This is insane.

 

I had a very smooth Skyrim with a LOT of mods.

 

They all worked perfectly. I made sure to clean them of Dirty Edits (leaving the ones that required them to function via the Mod Authors statement on the mod page), always running Boss, TES5Edit, just to see if i missed anything or requrie anything, or if somethings out of place.

 

The other day i put in 14 new mods. They were small mods, definitely not game breaking.

 

I believe they were

 

Bordersense

Guarded Borders

HD Moon Replacers

Killable and Lootable Children - Hearthfires Edition

Wearable Lanterns

Little Caravans and More Children Wear

Magic Duel Reborn

Monster Mod

Monster Mod Lore Friendly Replacer

No NPC Greetings

Run For Your Lives

Skyrim Naruto Mod Overhaul

The Art of Magicka-UNP High Rez

Whiterun Mansion

 

I Had an issue with it when i installed Magic Duel Reborn, i couldnt find the Main ESP in my NMM, but it was in my Data folder, after restarting my computer, it showed up. But thats it.

 

Now, whenever i load any save, the game crashes at the end of the loading screen, when its about to fade into the game.

 

I even tried a New Game, cause i thought maybe my saves were corrupted. It did the same thing.

 

I even ran BOSS and TES5Edit, everything came up clean in Boss, and TES5Edit didnt detect anything out of place or any Errors.

 

After all this, i tried disabling all my mods (except of course, Update.esm and the DLC). Still crashed. Then i disabled my DLC. Still crashed.

 

Now im out of options.

 

Id REALLY prefer not to re-install Skyrim and have to download 375 mods (thats whats in my NMM, i think theres 3 other mods i had to download manually)

 

I havent made any edits to my INI's except for changing the Camera for the Monster Mounts mod (to fix the Camera on the larger mounts).

 

I run the latest version of SKSE and the latest version of Skyrim.

 

Please help...id love to play Skyrim again so i can continue streaming and having fun...

anyway you said you have 325 mods? skyrim esp\esm limit is 250\256.. but there's a script for Tes5Edit to merge plug-in (read description.. there are some limitation): there is also a useful link to a forum with merge report

Swapping mods in and out garbages up saves and causes other issues, you should try to keep a stable list or create new characters regularly.

 

By the time you have gone from start to level 50 your save size doubles you get slower going thru doors,etc.

I create a lot of new chars actually.

 

I moved all my saves to a backup folder to start from scratch, hoping starting a new game would fix the crashing.

 

But it didnt.

 

So what should i do? Do i just have to re-install Skyrim?

Sometimes, when you uninstall a lot of mods together, something can get "lost" and the game become unstable.. if it's the case the only way is a fresh installation.

 

it's possible too that you have some conflict or just uninstalled some master file (but this doesn't explain your ctd without any mod installed..). Your load order could help (better if using spoiler function)

Mods get corrupted over time, re download and install one by one... should help.....Eliminate the crap you don't need...

If you have the latest Unofficial Patches (v2 up) then your load order is wrong! Ensure you have the current version of BOSS and that it's masterlist is also current. Your load order shows a total of 216 active mods which, while under the absolute maximum of 256, is still a lot of mods. You might want to consider using Wrye Bash for it's Bashed Patch feature (you'll need to use the 304.2 Beta if you have v2 of the Unofficial Patches).

Well, after hours and hours of experimentation

 

I wound up:

 

-Uninstalling My Skyrim

-Re-installing Skyrim then copying and pasting the backup of my Data Folder into the New Skyrim, then only enabling 4 mods (RaceMenu, UNP, ECE, SkyUI), still crashed

 

Then i figured that it isnt something in my mods, but some loose file from a manually installed mod that is causing this.

 

So then I:

 

-Uninstalled that Skyrim

-Re-installed another Skyrim and this time, didnt use any mods at all. Updated to latest version and launched it as Vanilla. It worked.

 

So, now im just going to enable a few mods and see if its stable.

 

@Grizzly: If you mean that my Unofficial Patches are in the wrong place, thats as high as NMM allows me to put them. I've heard their supposed to load right after the DLC. But it doesnt let me put them that high. And i cant move the ones above it, down.

 

216 mods, i dont know what was causing the crash, but id say 200 mods, i was still able to run the game VERY smoothly. However, i dont think it was the number of mods i have. Rather, something in 1 of the mods i manually installed, was causing the CTD. Either it was corrupted, or was incomplete. I dont know which.

 

However, im sure that if i carefully select what mods to use, i can avoid another CTD issue.
