pepperman35
Greeting fellow modders, Been working on a custom worldspace in the Creation Kit for several months now. The worldspace has a rather large settlement area (think Spectacle Island size). I noticed yesterday the one of the meshes would disappear as I panned toward the left side of the screen. Weird, I know. Hadn’t noticed it doing this before, and haven't made any tweaks to CK settings. Anyone seen anything like this before or a theory on what might be causing it? DieFeM
I had a similar issue, if you have it checked, try unchecking "Small World" in your WorldSpace settings.
pepperman35
Thanks, I'll give it a look and see. Edit: It was checked but unchecking it didn't make any difference. Thanks for the suggestion though. Edited October 20, 2022 by pepperman35
greekrage
This could be a simple case of grids to load if its far away ....Try checking it as full LOD as well see if it stays. Also have you done precombines/previs yet ? Personally in a mod that im working on at nakano thats pretty big in terms of cells and distance from one end to the other... I had to edit my settings in game and CK to have some stuff loaded and not fade out (increased grids to load to 7 from 5 )
84Cronos
What kind of object is disappearing? Is it a loaded object or just part of the LOD?
niston
There is one of the large green trash containers that also disappears when you look at it sideways. It's something to do with culling and there is a radius you can edit in nifskope, but I forget the details. DieFeM
Now that niston points it, I recall fixing that kind of issue converting the main node to NiNode in Nifskope. So, if the nif file is using BSFadeNode, right click on it, click on convert, and select NiNode. That fixed it for me in some objects.
pepperman35
Hi all, thanks for the good suggestions. The nif in question is a custom made one which is basically a road (static object). It is properly exported with the NiNode. Thing is...everything worked fine for several months. All of sudden it began the disappearing act. I have tried all of the suggestion and not yet found a solution. The object workd/appears in game fine with no issue; only in the CK does it play peak-a-boo. I am not yet ready to do the precombines/previs thing as I have yet more work to do. Might need a refresh on my CK install, worth a try I suppose. Are we talking about a simple adjustment to a vanilla piece or some kind of new high poly extravaganza with 20 new textures and crazy alpha and effect settings? pepperman35
Low poly with a single texture. I managed a work around of sort by making a static collection (just connected it with another object nearby). Thus far, it works.
