Yamcakes
I would really like to play as a Spider Daedra.I could create a race with the same skintone, eyes and such, but how would I afix the spider lower body to it? I know some custom races have hooves and mermaid tails.Would it be smarter to just have an equippable spider bottom, built into the race itself, or have it transform into an actual spider daedra creature as a power? And would people respond to me in another form?Or at the very least, how replicate the top and headpiece. They're one of the first things I searched for when I started downloading mods. AzirAphale001
To sepatate the upper and lower body you need Blender. It may require some weighting to make it fit the human skeleton, but it is possible. OBSE has some commands to add the spider legs, but they'll have to be static unless you can get them rigged the the leg bones which could be difficult. All in all it would be easier to make a custom race with the upperbody of a Spider Daedra and an greater power to transform into a Spider Daedra. Also a 'summon spider' spell would be good, just like the Spider Daedra use. The transform would be easier, as it has been done before with several animals, and tutorials are easy to find. Yamcakes
Thank you! Would I also be able to pick apart the nif files and texture for the daedra shirt and hat in blender and use it on a human body? Or would I have to recreate them from scratch? AzirAphale001
It would be easier to edit the daedra mesh than to make your own. If you need any help then don't be afraid to ask.
Yamcakes
Okay. Thank you so much for the time and advice, I have too many ideas, and no direction! If I have any problems or questions, I'll post again.

Yamcakes
Well, now that I have a slightly better understanding of how most of the tools work, I've started this project, finally. Got the race comlpleted (a few versions, with varying textures) , and nearly finished with the conversion of the hat and top as equips (as well as a dress and bottom version too, ((hoping to get an entire set completed))), but I'm struggling with the transformation spell scripting. If anyone could point me to a guide for this, or make it for me, I'd truly appreciate it!I can't do much more than just swap my character for a spider daedra. I want access to all animations, and at least one melee, and their signature spell attacks (summon spiderling, lightning, and poison spit), along with the ability to be recognized as an NPC. xP Oh, and I still can't figure out how to change the attacking/attacked voice sounds to the daedra sound clips.I mean, I know about unpacking the files and whatnot, and how to get to them, but I have no clue how to assign them to my race. Slawter500
No specific info but Open CS and....IF you go to character>Race then in the bottom right of the window that will have appeared you can change voices to specific races. Im not sure if this will work with what you are doing though
Yamcakes
Thank you slawter, but what I need is to pull sound clips from a creature! Unfortunately Spider Daedras aren't a race per se, so I can't pull their voice range. That's for NPC dialogue and stuff, and I'm currently using High Elf voices. I really just need the info to the specific location of le attacking voice files~
gdarknight
I currently working out the final tweaks on a phantom skeleton system that will allow the player to take different forms, with smoother animation than previous attempts in other mods. The only glitch I'm facing right now is the lack of blood from physical damage. If you could live without blood from the claw strikes, the form would be fairly easy. I'll be away from my computer next week, but I'll look into this when I get back.
