anjenthedog
How? I'd look at changelogs to see when they added 1.6x support, and then I'd presume any variant newer than the version in which the first mention of support is made, is very likely at least partly incompatible with 1.5.97, unless the mod explicitly states otherwise somewhere in the description or changelog, ex: "- FOMOD now includes support for Skyrim SE 1.5.97 and AE/1.6x" (or includes an explicit 1.5.97 version in the files tab, as some do... btw, a good idea to check files tab when playing 1.5.97 for this reason or to make sure the mod hasn't "moved on" as a few ex: USSEP have done too.) or something like that, and then avoid any versions newer that their "cutoff dates" when installing or updating a given mod. Minor PITA but doable btw: not to be argumentative, but lotta trouble for what appears to only be only a few instances of mods that have been "forcibly" put out to pasture... (so long AddItem, you were a good pal)... After a catastrophic crash last fall, I just reinstalled from scratch over the past ~month, I'm up to 470+ mods and 1.6.1170 is running like a champ. Did originally intend to downgrade to 1.5.97, once I got the base game installed, but I'm finding no good reason to bother.
BlazeStryker
I think they're too busy trying to find a way to thread through the aftermath of New Vegas while still building an ultimately weird narrative for Season 2 of Fallout (The Series).
