Dweilyn Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) First time posting here, I'm sorry if this should go elsewhere. I used to have very dark nights (torches and/or light spells were a must) and warm firelight. Then I uninstalled Skyrim and bam - all that was gone, despite the fact I installed back almost all the exact same mods. In fact, it appears the outdoors areas in Skyrim are not affected almost at all by my lighting mods. I have tried to install several 'dark nights' mods, and I've chosen the darkest possible settings in them, but the nights don't appear to even change. And all the fires are pale, almost white, compared to the warm oranges of before. Interiors, however, appear to be just fine. Here's how an inn looks. And here's how lights looks outside. And my nights are very pale (with brightness at the lowest possible setting)... ...compared to the ones before (with brightness at 50%). And here's what kind of light a torch used to give. Another example. And now it's just... well, white light. (I sadly don't have any other screenshots to show the warmer firelight of before.) I tried googling the problem but found nothing but an old, now deleted forum post nobody had even replied to. I have uninstalled my Skyrim twice due to this problem (visuals are extremely important to me), and nothing has changed. I have tried several different mod combinations and even mods that are specifically aimed to give the fire/lanterns a warmer color and/or make the nights darker (with and without other mods), but no luck. The fires do get brighter, though. Getting an ENB is out of the question, as trying to make one work was the original reason I ever uninstalled my Skyrim. I'd do something with my skyrimprefs.ini, but I'm a bit too afraid to try anything since I'm not exactly familiar with this kind of stuff. If anyone has even a vague guess of what could help, please share it with me. I'd be forever glad. Edited November 17, 2013 by Dweilyn
DeadlyDoughnuts Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 You should post a list of the mods your using to try and better understand what could be causing the problem. In the meantime are you using Climates fo Tamriel? I have noticed that when you choose a very dark setting for that mod it tends to desaturate extirior lights greatly.
Jacquar Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) My friend and I are both having the same problem. We're using ~100 mods, neatly set up in Wrye Bash, and darkness at night simply doesn't exist. Interior, however, are pleasantly pitch black without the aid of torches or magic.I tried a mod explicitly made to solve this issue ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35370/? ) , and it had absolutely no effect. This is rather frustrating. Not using an ENB, am using RLO, Frostfall, RND and so forth.Any help appreciated. Edited December 9, 2013 by Jacquar
Nitojutsu Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I am experiencing the same exact issue using the full S.T.E.P program (200 mods). Before using S.T.E.P i was using RLO+CoT and Realvision ENB. The colors there were extremely vibrant/saturated, so much so that i decided on uninstalling. Has anyone found a solution yet?
vivalakingofisrael Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Necro bump, did you fix it?How the f*ck can all these people on this forum not notice this disgrace
aomas Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Yes im bumping this s#*! up, its the only thing that kinda ruins my experience!! Any fixes guys, even enb fixes i have no idea what settings would boost the saturation of night fire!
xiones11 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Same problem. Had beautiful lighting outside before with elfx and now its white and unnatural. Looks like garbage but don't remember my old mod list. Its a pity.Oh, BTW necro Because this is f*#@ing important stuff.
xiones11 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Alright, I figured it out. First, you need to get pureweather nad load that thing up cuz its awesome. Second, install the ELFX Enhancer and Exteriors MANUALLY. I repeat. MANUALLY. This will actually get those stupid surgical LED candles giving off more realistic light.
