mouatachio
:wallbash: :psyduck:Ok, so no matter how many times I retrace my steps, I cannot get my Nifskope model to work without errors.I am able to load up my .obj file into nifskope, and replace the original sword model and blood meshes, and I'm even able to apply normal maps and textures, but after I've saved it and exported it, if I try to use the model or re-open it in Nifskope I am bombarded with errors, and only several triangles of the hilt are present in the 3D preview. So, I request that someone help me with this, and see if they can get it to work for them, it would be much appreciated;https://www.dropbox.com/s/dd2wwt4nqkybnac/Files%20for%20Nifskoping.rarhttp://www.mediafire.com/?n0wbamao2xmaaor(Both links are the same file)Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, and I'll give you credit when I finish the mod and upload it to the Steam Workshop :D
ghosu
Well...seems you followed my C4D tutorial? At least the mesh looks like it...though you used too many polygons. It's something like >66.000, i'm pretty sure you could create quite the same model using less polygons - more like <5k. When it comes to the texture i guess you used the automated function to unwrap it - i would recommend to check out my basic UV map tutorial as well - Will take a while to understand the whole thing but the UV layout for the texture would be 10times better, in its current state it will be pretty hard to texture or at least very blurry. Can't even try to fix your file, i'm using 3DsMax now to import it to the .nif, but you polyon count is so hight that the program crashes when i try - so i would recommend to overhaul the mesh, lower polygon count and maybe learn to UV unwrap (there should be useable other C4D tutorials on YT as well). greetings Edited November 17, 2013 by ghosu

I didn't follow that tutorial, but the mesh was originally used for 3D Rendering and such, so I'll see if I can lower the poly-count, then I'll redo the UV Map!
