Broken Steel

I just finished Broken Steel, a tad bit disappointed with it. First off, its failure to be compatible with other DLCs created by the SAME company. Then the new content. Yeah, the new power armor is sweet with the Heavy Incinerator, but then thats really the only new thing besides the Tesla Cannon. Oh yes, that Metro ride and Vertibird ride. They both black out like having sex with Moira. I thought the vertibird sequence would be epic like being shot at or shot down and having to survive and rescue the squad. Nope, you just fly about 120 feet away and watch nuclear warheads destroy a enclave facility while not being harmed at all. Then with the Tesla Cannon, they promised 1 shot kills for the vertibirds. More like 10 to me if they are landed.

 

 

Now onto the main quest it adds. I LOVE that they were smart enough to have to survive and play freely. But then, the main new main quest is really cheesey. I mean 1 person goes in to kill i dont know ( just a guess ) about 70 enclave troopers by himself? Oh I forgot, you have a TESLA CANNON :O Yeah no... The storyline is about 4/10 while gameplay ill give 7/10 as you get alot more side quests. Content? Well, you get about 5 new things you can use ingame ( not talking about G.E.C.K. objects that hopefully the community of modders will use to make an epic base of epic proportions ) They all actually function well, so ill give that a 9/10, most of the weapons are enjoyable ( lol 2 weapons ).

 

New creatures/monster/people aren't really that much only three things the Mutant Overlords, Enclave Sigma Squad, and the Hellfire Troopers ( you only see the Sigma Squad once, because you kill them all [ optional ] )

 

 

All in all, this DLC package gets a rough 7/10 for me.

I do agree. I felt somewhat unsatisfied at the end. It was just too fast for me.

I thought it was good, could have been better but its what Ive come to expect from DLC. OA and the Pitt were pretty disappointing. But then given the joke that expansion pack have turned into, its what Ive come to expect.

 

I will say Im sick of this downloadable content bullshit.

 

I wanna see a real expansion pack, not some half asses quest line with a few shiney bits for oooos and awwwws.

 

Ive said it before and Ill say it again.

 

I wanna expansions that take the game to a new level. Like what Bloodmoon and Tibunal were for Morrowind, like what the Frozen Throne was for Warcraft 3, or like Lord of Destruction was for Diablo 2.

Real work put into it. Real time and effort. Something to be proud of when the devs look at it. Not just say to themselves, "Yea that'll work"

I hope so. That was definitely one of the the tidbits that caught my attention when I was playing through.
