intro and question

Never know how to start forum intro posts without sounding like the beginning of a support group... "Hi my name is reaper", "Hi reaper" ,,,, "I've been a gamer for _ (Add timeframe)". It plays out in my head that way every time and not sure why? Anyway...

 

Hi I'm Reaper - my nickname is definitely one used by many in some way, but for me it was a nickname that came after having clinically died twice. Like a mantle for beating the Reaper on two occasions that lasted 2.5 min and around 10, with years between the occasions. So that is my origin story behind the nickname.

 

PC gaming and user mod creation was introduced to me around 2002 +/- a year when Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne & I'm highly grateful for the chance to experience to see one of the biggest pc gaming developers of that time have a community of gamers come together and use WC3 elements as building blocks for new and great experiences. I was just finishing high school and starting university when it was really peaking, & seeing gamers pull off user generated content at a level that at that time I had only seen Linux manage to perform was a great chance. It made me respect communities like Nexus and the users who make these mods. As someone with a background and familiarity in computer science and programming and was given the chance to see mod creation when broadband had barely hit residential markets had just barely made it to people outside major cities gave me a respect and appreciation for mod creators that has stuck with me to this day.

 

I only just recently joined Nexusmods when looking into info for Monster Hunter Rise & Sunbreak expansion. I am still looking at the options to find which mods are able to give the most benefit to what I am looking for, and then seeing some that I didn't even know I might want to use. I am pretty positive with the few I have seen so I will find some options that will improve the game experience with what I am hoping for, & just need to look further.

My reason for introduction was primarily to express my appreciation and gratitude for the work done in creation and the site for creating the resources regarding the community to bring everything together.

 

So thanks everyone. Also if anyone reading this knows of a Monster Hunter Rise mod that can be used to raise your Hunter level and open up access to the majority of the weapon and armor creation. I completed the base game for the most part, and just got into the Sunbreak content recently on the switch, and decided I wanted to switch to the pc version. Hoping that a mod with a way to help get the chance to make it to the point I was at on the switch could be hit before missing out on any events,

When any thoughts arise I want to text another about I prefer the PM: Personal Message to posting in the other person's on going thread. Like Maharg67 I try to write a story and keep it a running story in the thread when ever I have a good long winded one that takes several days to get it all in.

 

I can not share what clinical knowledge I have learned during my experiences with near death. I might think I know enough from being hospitalized many times by different events so I might qualify as a wise shaman but not a legal doctor, but... Legalities. You know.

 

Doctors don't like trying to explain Death and revival with the patients.

 

Something about lawyers keeps them quiet, just as something about doctors keeps lawyers from embarking on cases which tend to suggest the patient can't get their life insurance even though they were clinically dead. Even a death certificate signed by a doctor won't get the Insurance company to give them the money. As long as their corpse keeps talking and moving.

 

I can hear the revived guy I will call John. I chose John because of hearing many stories about soldiers who got what they called Dear John letters from the bride to be.

I have no way of explaining or proving that I have died and escaped Death. I prefer Death as the name of the gatherer of souls.

I do hope this is not upsetting or off limits but did you experience anything during those 2 times? I would be very intersted to hear, if you wish to share, if not please forgive me I do not wish to upset you and hope that I already haven't done so
