MetaMoose
So this is a problem that has occurred both in Skyrim and New Vegas when uninstalling mods. Sometimes the mod will uninstall yet the .esm for the mod is still present in the Plugins tab of NMM. Does this mean that the mod still has files active in the game? And how can I get NMM to recognize that those mods are no longer installed? Reinstalling the mods and then Uninstalling them again has no effect. The .esm files are still present in the Plugins screen. Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find a specific answer regarding this inquiry. -MetaMoose-
bjornl
check if the ESM is read only. Some are, in which case the uninstall can fail. Also if you uninstall without deactivating it I have found this occasionally (very rarely) left me with stray files. If the ESM is in your data folder the MOD is not automatically still there, but it is not a good thing either. I'd suggest removing it manually after you have first de-activated and then uninstalled the mod. If it happens a bunch, just backup your savesthen uninstall ALL modsuninstall the gamedelete both game folder (including the one in MyGames)re-install for a faster, completely uncluttered installThen gradually add the mods back you want.
