overly conservative christians like the ones who wrote those articles are... hilarious. I could suddenly decide to devote...lets see all of my time to dnd, I am not gonna commit suicide or start crafting armor and knighting a small band of brothers to commit a school...uh hacking, or bow shooting. Obviously the people who commited suicide already had issues, probobly the reason they devoted so much time to the imaginary anyway, because their reality was to untolerable.

btw anyone know a spell to change the smiles back into circles? <hiya blocky :glare: >

I was always encouraged to play D&D at school and other storyline based games since they produced good imaginative skills.

I agree completly with Dark0ne, altough I was never encouraged in my school to do such things. Roleplaying games (and also some other games with interesting story lines) can help with imaginative skills. Some things I have written were partially inspired by games I have played, films I have watched or books I have read. And games continue to do have that effect on what I write.

Oh come on, this is ridiculous. It's overzealous rubbish like this that gives Christianity a bad name. :P

The stuff at the top, "There is a danger becoming overinvolved in D&D, spending a large amount of time, money, and interest in it", "There is a danger in players becoming too involved with their imaginary characters", "D&D contains a lot of violence" are hardly things for Christians exclusively to be worried about, surely that would concern pretty much anyone.

I can't believe people actually waste their energy worrying about this stuff

I expect this web page to appear on the God Channel and other such cr@p soon.

This is probably from the same people who think Snarry Kotter teaches children witchcraft and devil worship, and that the book has an accurate description of how to cast spells.

Well, look at this from the other side. A group of people are meating regulary, spending hours in one room. You try listening to them and what do you hear? They are casting spells, praying to unknown gods and fighting monsters, but you are sure there are no monsters in that room. They even transform into completely different people and talk phrases you don't understand. The only explanation is occultism. :)

Just because my character believes in Mystra doesn't mean I do.
