Mod Idea-Hatchery

Okay so the other day I was fighting a frostbite spider and I thought to myself, "Damn, if only I had an army of these."

Then I had an idea for a mod. Basically, you come across a book belonging to an alchemist in a tavern or cave or something. Apparently he's discovered a way to make animals and monsters friendly to you if you raise them from a young age. He's written down the location of the tomb where he's going to make his lab.

So you journey there only to find his body outside along with a peeved bandit. Bandit tries to kill you, gets a FUS RO DAH, to the face and then you can loot the alchemist for the key and another note. The new note claims that he has gotten the basic workings for his hatchery done but still needs some spider eggs to test everything out.

He went out only to get killed by the bandit, as you may have figured out.

You walk into the hatchery to find it only partially cleaned up and only with basic equipment. An alchemy lab, living quarters and a small room with a strange device resembling a furnace. You find the guy's research notes all compiled in a nice little book (convenient, eh?and discover this is actually an incubator.

if you provide it with the right materials and items it will nurse and grow an egg or baby of whatever type of creature you want. after a certain amount of time, said beastie will pop out of his small incubator and be eager to help his mother. (YES THAT'S RIGHT!) you are now the proud mother/ father of this adorable little guy.

He will start out tiny but as you wait he will get bigger. I plan on letting you upgrade the tomb so you can breed more monsters at once, maybe give them a living area.

Also, I may change the breeding system slightly. maybe instead of an incubator. you have to open up rooms and collect food and things for eggs. basically, you place the eggs in the room, once they hatch they will need to be feed often or they will die.) they will make that room look like their home. spiders place webs, chaurus place egg sacks or whatever.

so they will still grow and as they grow they will get stronger. you can make them follow you from the moment they hatch but they will be pretty weak.

I may also implement a feature of random bandits going after your gold or mages going after your research. they will attack the place and try to kill your minions, destroy you lab and maybe even you!

I plan on making you be able to breed most monsters. example, kill a troll, steal it's baby. (if you dont like this idea then maybe don't download the mod.) and place it in a room. then you get troll minions they will be tougher than spiders but will take longer to grow. and since you might get raided they could die when they're still young.

some animals will be stronger than others. be default some spiders will be very weak and others very strong. kinda like in nature. thisll probably be random.

you will also be able to tell your monsters to go out and hunt for food. since these hungry lil monsters will eat anything the ones sent out for food will come back with random food items.

also, this has a high chance of not making it but you might be able to "tweak" your minions' DNA at a special lab. say you want one to have fire powers? take an unhatched egg and enchant it with whatever, than put it back into its living palce and you'll get a happy enchanted little thing that sets stuff on fire. ( i bet you're drooling now aren't you?)

these perks probably won't carry on as the monsters breed and make new generations. (Oh right, forgot to mention that, you don't need to get new eggs every time, once you have two live monsters, they will produce their own offspring automatically, you just need to make sure you have enough food for em. so, like I was saying the enchantmeants probably wont carry over to their offspring. realsiticalyl they would but i dont know if thatll be overpowered.

please leave feedback and let me know what you think. if anybody wants to co-author this let me know. ANY HELP WILL BE APRECIATED AND I WILL BE SURE TO CREDIT YOU!!!

cheers
