If any of you happen to live in the Washington D.C./Baltimore/Annapolis/Virginia, chances are you've heard of 99.1 WHFS. For those of you who don't, HFS was a true alternative radio station. WHFS has played great alternative music since the ealry 1970s. They have given birth to many local bands through their concert events, and have supported many charities with their fundraisers.

 

For years, WHFS provided the Marylan/Virginia Area with great music. All of a sudden, on the 12th of January, without warning, WHFS switched to El Zol - a new Spanish language channel.

 

I don't know if any of you can relate or sympathise, but it's worth a try.

 

HFS has been a major part of life for many people. The Junkies in the Morning were one of the highest-rated show on the radio, because people could relate. Many people have had unforgettable experiences at the HFStival and HFSmas Nutcracker, 2 annual music festivals.

 

The employees of WHFS were layed off without warning. In fact, no warning was given to anyone. Click here to listen to the laste seconds of WHFS.
