RaidersClamoring
Hey folks, My mind is set on creating a mannequin that isn't a Redcoat but instead an opposing militia soldier specifically an actual Minuteman general; Captain John Parker, pictured here: To get 100% resemblance is absolutely not my intention, I just want to have a credibly looking militia soldier with Parker as an example to start working. The idea is to find some clothing, hairstyle and rifle that takes me close to how he looks, freeze a male NPC, knead is face into some resemblance, put him in an MFG pose and then grab this 3D to create a mesh. Now you may laugh. Because this is probably easier said than done and I'm posting this as a Hail Mary to [1] see if it's actually possible or [2] if y'all have some ideas as to how to achieve this in another way. LarannKiar
You need to use a 3D modeling software like 3ds Max. I think this mod has a tutorial for Load Screen Art meshes.
Blinxys
You sure that's not Mel Gibson? Anyway, I'm going with easier done then said... you can make the face in looksmenu, (more or less). I think you just start messing with a copy of a mannequin object and associated nif(s)I'm not sure, but from what I've seen mannequins are just mucked up human models and can be swapped out.Several mods replace the meshes with hhuman ones. They also seem to have skeletons, (lazman's replacer inherited CBBE physics)*, which essentially means they can be posed. And I think you can give it a default outfit. You just gotta find the stuff to put on him.I think the Jackdaw haircut (in-game IIRC) is approximately what you are going for. *(Was not nearly as fun as it may sound). :yucky: Edit: @LarannKiar that is an awesome resource you linked, thanks for sharing! Edited November 30, 2022 by Blinxys

That is actually fantastic, thanks Larann. And yes it does if you scroll down to close to the bottom.

That one is just one surface level mesh, like from a plaster mold or polymer cast.
pepperman35
If you have access to the statue that you posted a picture of there is a technique called photogrammetry that could be used to turn the series of photographs into a 3d model. Never tried it myself but the process looks interesting. I fear that the poly count would be quite high. If you'd like to see a demo, see the vid below. (???) Oh it's for use in-game for sure. I'm making a decoy for Workshop meant to fool settlement attackers into attacking it and potentially have them walk into a minefield or whatever you wish to complement the decoy with. Already have a working object, but it's Redcoat and that's just a consistency error. I converted the mannequin into an actor which actually works. Raiders will attack it like the morons that they are.
RaidersClamoring
I'll just use this. :nuke:
Blinxys
Nice! that's pretty close to what you were looking for. :cool:Was that an in-game asset? So you are making a "straw man", I like it. :thumbsup:They do this to us with cutouts and mannequins and such,so it makes up for the AI has no fog of war/visual obstruction problem a bit.
