FireHawkDelta
I had a problem where when I pressed e, nothing happened until 20 seconds later. I googled it, and people said to delete the .ini files. I did that, but when I ran skyrim, it was in low resolution windows mode, and stayed like that. When I ran Skyrim the first time, it did a check and set it to "medium settings," but this time everything is stuck on minimum. It won't change it, and it won't let me load a save. Georgiegril
It is obviously too late to poit out you really should make a backup of your ini files before making any changes. When the game rewrite your ini file, it only puts in the default lines.Any lines that you have added (such as bEnableFileSelection=1) Will not be there all. At this point you need to try to reconstruct your old .ini files, particularly any lines that you added that are needed for skse, NMM, or any mods you might have. Also if you had a larger than default ugrids, you need to put those lines back or you will crash. Every time you visit the options window of the launcher, it reverts to default, so any changes you make to the values of your ini files get reverted back to default every time you do that. (though that process doesn't erase lines that you added.)If you are unable to do that, you are likely looking at having to start a new game. bben46
When you delete your ini files the game rebuilds them based on the hardware and conditions it finds at that time. If something in your computer has changed - especially something in the graphics system ( usually the video card) then the settings will be different. To get the game to rebuild the ini files, start the game without SKSE - use the steam launcher to start a new game and it will automatically see there is no ini and scan your hardware to set one up for you. Then you should be able to exit the game and restart using SKSE or whatever other launcher you use and it will use the new ini settings. If you think these settings can be set higher, there are in game settings that allow you to make adjustments. IF you wish, you can make manual changes to the ini settings using a text editor. If any of this doesn't work, you need to Validate your game cache through steam as something is probably missing or corrupt.
