maxrsp
Off the start I will say this doesn't seem to be the much discussed v-sync issue as I already have v-sync enabled and confirmed FPS tops out at 60 with Skyrim Performance Monitor. That said, I seem to have similar symptoms. I am created an interior cell with the Creation Kit, placing objects as I want them (food, plates, etc) but when I enter the house in-game they are all scattered everywhere! Does anyone know of any other issues besides v-sync that would causes this? Or, if it is a physics bug, can you provide any advice for successfully placing items to reduce the chance of exploding across the room? Thanks! Lisnpuppy
Did you make them static objects? That is the only way I can think of to prevent this issue.
maxrsp
No, I didn't do anything specific. I assumed if their base object was static (e.g. plates and goblets) that they would be already set. But I didn't change the food items because I was hoping they could be used as food items and be consumable...
Lisnpuppy
No most of those things are not already static. You may have noted that items scatter when you go into your vanilla homes and stuff also. What some folks do is make static objects of these things if there isn't a version already. For food they will make a plate of food a static container so that you can put the food items in it for people to use but it doesn't fly all over half of Tamriel when you come in a door. :)
mrpdean
Lisnpuppy is correct in that a lot of people like to make proper 'static' versions of some of the clutter objects to prevent this happening. To be honest I haven't found it to be a huge problem for me when I'm adding clutter to my mods. When you are placing your clutter in the CK are you running the Havok preview with the items selected, so that they actually have the physics applied in the CK and will settle into place. As described on this page: http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Clutter I find that if I settle them in the CK then I generally don't have problems in game. For many of the clutter items, their collision mesh is very low poly (often just a cube is used for a round object) so for many of the items you can't have them too close together, unless you make actual static version of them, as has been suggested. Good luck!
